Nothing HAS to happen on the Shemitah

The Shemitah
I know many people are wondering just what is going to happen on the Shemitah. Many people, even Christians, are viewing it with fear and trembling. (Tweet that!) All these posts are not intended to scare you. They are intended to prepare you and cause you to examine your faith in Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him. (Tweet that!) Come whatever may come, He is our protector, our peace, our everything.

But it's possible nothing will happen at all. God is not locked in to doing anything. (Tweet that!)

Hear what author Jonathan Cahn has to say on this:

Again, as stated before, we cannot expect prophetic happenings to show up on a regular schedule or to perform on cue. Nothing significant has to happen within the Shemitah of 2014-2015. The phenomenon may manifest in one cycle, and not in another, and then again in the next. And the focus of the message is not date-setting but the call of God to repentance and return. At the same time, something of significance could take place, and it is wise to note the times.

(The Mystery of the Shemitah, page 40.)

Notice what he says about the focus of this entire exercise God is doing in and through the Shemitah. It is all about calling people back to God. (Tweet that!)

It is about repentance. Repentance is turning away from what you are doing that is sin and turning to God to walk forward in life without that sin. It's about doing better. Repentance is about stopping one behavior and going a different direction. What do you have in your life that you need to repent of? (We all have something.)

Mr. Cahn also says the Shemitah is about "return." It's about returning to God – the One True God, that is. We're talking about Jesus Christ. There is no other God. The Shemitah is about returning to Him.

If individuals and/or nations return to God, disaster can still be averted. (Tweet that!)

If individuals and/or nations refuse to return to God, then God will take the next step to cause us to want to turn back to Him. (Tweet that!)

He's turning up the pressure. You're going to have to make a decision. (Tweet that!)
Are you going to be one of God's people? Or are you going to choose to ignore Him or refuse Him? (Tweet that!)

There's only those two ways to go: Follow Him or refuse.
