Join the Facebook Event - #Shemitah and Partial Solar Eclipse (#BlackSun) Watch Party

This week we've been talking about the coming Shemitah.  (Tweet that!)  We've touched on what has happened in the past two Shemitahs in 2001, just after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2015, and in 2008. If you missed any of the discussion those posts are linked at the bottom of this one. (Tweet that!)

There's a lot to talk about concerning the Shemitah. I imagine together we'll learn a lot more as it approaches on September 13, 2015. As a place for interested people to find information, articles, these blog posts, and whatever else I come up with, I've created a Facebook Event page. (Tweet that!)

Please go to this Facebook event and click "Join." There's not a lot there right now, but I plan to study this topic and add more as I learn about the coming Shemitah in September, this amazing worldwide event #3 in 2015 that is linked to Bible prophecy. Then I will share what I learn here on this blog and also post these articles to this Facebook Event page:

So please stay tuned to this blog and all my Facebook Event pages to learn more about these four fascinating worldwide events we are set to experience in 2015 which are linked to Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!)

Solar Eclipse (Black Sun) on the Coming Shemitah - Amazing Worldwide Event #3 Linked to Bible Prophecy

Interestingly, a partial solar eclipse (which some call a Black Sun) will occur on the same date as the coming Shemitah: September 13, 2015. (Tweet that!)

Only a small portion of the earth will be able to see it: way in the south, including South Africa, Antarctica, and locations in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

Why might this solar eclipse on the Shemitah be important? (Tweet that!)

We learned in a previous post that Bible and Jewish scholars say the sun is God’s messenger to the Gentiles while the moon is His sign to the Jews. (Tweet that!)

That was in my post on January 10, 2015, titled 2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #1 - The Coming Solar Eclipse in MarchWe were talking about a different solar eclipse in that post, that is, the next solar eclipse we're anticipating on March 20, 2015. But in that discussion I noted:

Biblical scholars say that the "signs in the moon" are messages to the Jewish people."Signs in the sun" are messages to the Gentiles.

In other words, a solar eclipse is His warning to wake up the Gentiles and a lunar eclipse is His warning to the Jewish people.

So what might it mean for a partial solar eclipse to take place on the same day as the Shemitah? (Tweet that!) Is God sending a warning to Gentiles? To gentiles all over the world? To America? (Tweet that!)

Especially considering what we discussed in the previous post about what has taken place here in America on the previous two Shemitahs. (Tweet that!)

You can see a world map showing where the solar eclipse on the Shemitah coming September 13th will be visible and learn more about it here: (Tweet that!)

What Might Happen on the Coming Shemitah? - Amazing Worldwide Event #3 Linked to Bible Prophecy

In the January 15th post, 2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #3 Linked to Bible Prophecy: The Coming Shemitah in September, we talked about the next Shemitah coming later this year. This week, let's learn more about this once-in-7 years event coming this September. (Tweet that!)

Here's an important principle given in the Bible:

When people observe what God says and honor Him, they are blessed. (Tweet that!) When people do not honor what God has said, He often reminds us by allowing consequences to fall upon us. (Tweet that!) The United States has been greatly blessed by God since her beginning until recent years when in many ways the United States (and much of the world) has turned away from God. For several years now this has been a matter of great concern for many Christians in the United States.

Many Bible scholars are looking at the coming Shemitah on September 13, 2015, as a time when God might allow further consequences to fall upon America. (Tweet that!) Why are we looking to this event as a date when America might experiences God's judgment? The answer is because of what has happened on the previous two Shemitahs.

Take a look at what happened on the past two Shemitas: (Tweet that!)

  • September 17, 2001 (or Elul 29 in 2001): Six days after the attacks by Islamic terrorists on September 11, 2001, the stock market dropped 700 points or 7% in one day, the greatest loss in its history up to that date.
  • September 29, 2008 (or Elul 29 in 2008): The stock market dropped 7% or 777.7 points, wiping out everything it had gained in the previous seven years. This loss then became the new largest one-day drop in its history.
So the question for us now is what, if anything, might happen on this coming Shemitah?

Another seven years has almost passed. Has the United States turned back to honoring and obeying God? Or has it moved farther away from the One True God, the God of Jews and Christians? (Tweet that!)

The best I've been able to determine at this time is that Elul 29 begins at sundown on September 13, 2015. (Tweet that!)  [Correction: Elul 29 begins at sundown on Saturday September 12, 2015, and runs to sundown on Sunday September 13, 2015.]

Is the Next Lunar Eclipse in April 2015 a Partial or Total? - Amazing Worldwide Event #2 Linked to Bible Prophecy

I was surprised when I went looking for information about the coming lunar eclipse on April 4, 2015, that is linked to Bible prophecy because I discovered it is sometimes being called a partial eclipse. (Tweet that!)

As we've discussed before, these lunar eclipses are spiritually, prophetically, and Biblically important because they are a tetrad falling on the first and last of the seven Jewish holy feast days (that is, Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles) two years in a row. A tetrad is defined as four total lunar eclipses in a row without any partial lunar eclipses falling in between them.

Therefore if this #3 eclipse is only a partial eclipse, that would be extremely important information because that would mean this is not actually a tetrad or series of four total lunar eclipses. (Tweet that!)

Furthermore, if this were only a partial eclipse then it would not be a total lunar eclipse on Passover.(Tweet that!)

On this topic, the TimeAndDate.com site gives this explanation on why the site is calling this a partial lunar eclipse in some of its material:

(*) Total eclipses with a very short period of totality and partial eclipses that come close to reaching totality may be labelled wrongly or inconsistently as total or partial eclipses. We are aware of this problem and are working on a solution.

While in the heading of the TimeAndDate.com article the April 4, 2015, event is called a "partial lunar eclipse," the article itself calls it a "total lunar eclipse."

This eclipse will last for 3 hours and 29 minutes from beginning to end. The moon will be totally eclipsed (the totality) for about 5 minutes. (Tweet that!)

Where to See the 3rd Lunar Eclipse in April - Amazing Worldwide Event #2 Linked to Bible Prophecy

In the January 13th post, we talked about 2015's Amazing Worldwide Event #2 Linked to Bible Prophecy: The Coming Third Lunar Eclipse in April. We will take a closer look at this event in three posts this week.

This lunar eclipse will take place on the Jewish feast of Passover, which makes it very significant spiritually and prophetically in light of Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!)

As this eclipse approaches and you make your plans to watch it, be sure to remember that the Jewish day is counted from sundown to sundown, which means the eclipse will be in the early morning hours of the April 4 (not the evening of April 4). (Tweet that!)

This eclipse will not be visible everywhere in the world. I call it a “worldwide event” because it is important, prophetically, to the whole world regardless of whether or not you can see it from where you are the morning of April 4, 2015. (Tweet that!) This eclipse will be visible in much of Asia, Australia, much of North America and South America, and the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, and Antarctica.

You can learn more about this third total lunar eclipse of this tetrad (series of four) on the following site. (Tweet that!)You can also learn what you will be able to see and at what time by entering your location on this site:

Come back on Thursday for more interesting information about this third lunar eclipse in April linked to Bible prophecy.

2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #4 Linked to Bible Prophecy: The Coming Fourth Lunar Eclipse in September

The fourth and final amazing worldwide event linked to Bible prophecy that we can foresee coming in 2015 is the fourth and final total lunar eclipse of the 2014 – 2015 tetrad. (Tweet that!)

This total lunar eclipse will occur on September 28, 2015, the Feast of Tabernacles, only two weeks after the Shemitah. (Tweet that!) I wonder what the world will look like at that point? I do expect major events to occur on the Shemitah, or perhaps before.

Am I foolish in openly predicting such a thing? I don't think so. I'm not the one predicting it. God is writing in the skies where EVERYONE can see -- whether or not they have a Bible, a TV, internet, or can read a blog like this one. (Tweet that!) God is shouting through all of these signs -- signs in the sun and moon and more. (Tweet that!) So will I be put to shame if my prediction doesn't come true? (Tweet that!) I don't believe I'll be put to shame on that.

For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame” (Romans 10:11).

If you missed the introductory discuss of the Shemitah in my previous post two days ago, find it here: The Coming Shemitah in September.

You can learn more right now about why all these lunar eclipses occurring on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles two years in a row are important from our discussions during the first two total lunar eclipses in these posts. The videos with expert Jonathan Cahn that are titled "After the Lunar Eclipse" were recorded after the first total lunar eclipse which occurred on Passover last spring on April 15, 2014.

We will discuss this fourth total lunar eclipse coming in September in future posts. In fact, we will talk more about the next total lunar eclipse, the third in the tetrad, coming in April next week, so please stop back by and bring a friend.

2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #3 Linked to Bible Prophecy: The Coming Shemitah in September

The Shemitah is coming later this year -- on September 13th to be exact -- and it is vitally important that you and your family know about it before it arrives, because it brings with it some amazing potential to link into Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!)

I only learned about the Shemitah in recent years. I blogged some introductory information about the Shemitah last October and I've put links to those articles below.

I learned most of what I know of the Shemitah from Rabbi and author Jonathan Cahn. You can hear him speak about this topic in two videos included in those links at the bottom of this post. I truly hope you will take the time to listen to those videos. (Tweet that!) They aren't that long but the information is so very important.

Jonathan Cahn has also written a book about this event which I'm looking forward to reading, The Mystery of the Shemitah.

For now, let me once again give you some basic information. I plan to discuss the Shemitah much more in the near future.

The Shemitah is both a year and an event on the last day of the Shemitah year. (Tweet that!)

The idea of the Shemitah is a Jewish idea given to the Hebrew people centuries before Jesus.

It is based on the idea that God created everything in six days and rested from His work of creation on the seventh. God also instructed that His people should work six days and rest on the seventh  -- a Sabbath rest. This principle extends to the land: the Jewish people were to work the land for six years and let the land rest on the seventh. The seventh year in this seven-year cycle is the Shemitah year.

There is also a cycle of seven of these seven-year cycles, or forty nine years. The following year, the fiftieth, is the Year of Jubilee.

In the Shemitah year, besides letting the land rest and the people rest from working it, all debts were cancelled. This is an incredible financial blessing.

This cancellation of debts takes place on the last day of the Shemitah year. On the Jewish calendar, the last month is Elul and the last day is the 29th. Therefore the Shemitah always falls on Elul 29.

Now I'm sure you're wondering what all of that has to do with us today? Remember this principle: God gives principles to live by and when people obey them they receive blessings; when people do not obey them they experience consequences. While we are free to obey or not, in the end the way of God will prevail regardless.

In this case, some see the turning away from God of America to be removing His blessing from this nation. And on those dates where important things are to happen, things happen that bring the consequences of turning away from God.

What I'm referring to is the fact that on the previous two Shemitahs, the United States has experienced profound financial events (Tweet that!):

  • September 17, 2001: Six days after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the stock market re-opened and dropped 700 points, or 7%, in one day. This was its greatest loss in its history up to that date. On the Jewish calendar, it was the last day of the Shemitah year: Elul 29.
  • September 29, 2008: Seven years later, after the government bailout of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and the bankruptcy (rather than accept a government bailout) of Lehmann Brothers, the stock market plunged again. This time it again dropped 7%. In points that 777.7 points. That equated to wiping out everything it had gained in the past seven years. Now this became the largest one-day drop in its history. Again, on the Jewish calendar, it was the last day of the Shemitah year: Elul 29.

(Source: WND.com article, "Israel Rediscovers Shemitah in Time for Blood Moons," posted 6/25/2014.)

We are currently living within a Shemitah year on the Jewish calendar. The corresponding dates on the calendar we use in the west means this Shemitah year began on September 25, 2014 and it will end on September 13, 2015. (Tweet that!)

Interestingly, the solar eclipse mentioned in my post on January 10, 2015: Amazing Worldwide Event #1 - The Coming Solar Eclipse in March, will occur on the exact mid-point of this Shemitah year. (Tweet that!

We will talk more about the Shemitah in future posts. In the mean time, please learn more about the Shemitah through these previous posts (Tweet that!):

2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #2 Linked to Bible Prophecy: The Coming Third Lunar Eclipse in April

In my post on January 6th I listed four amazing worldwide events coming in 2015. I call them amazing and worldwide events because I believe they are linked to Bible prophecy and therefore will affect the entire world. (Tweet that!)

After a brief one-post interruption for the breaking news story about the terrorists in Paris, France, in my previous post on January 10th we took a look at that first event:

The second amazing worldwide event coming this year is the third of the four total lunar eclipses occurring April 4, 2015. (Tweet that!

This event will be on the Jewish feast of Passover. (Tweet that!)

We will discuss this event more in depth all next week. For now, you can find a lot of information in our previous discussions about these four lunar eclipses. Here are links to several of those posts. If you haven't been with me for these discussions, there's a ton of information in these linked articles. Even if you have been with me long enough to have seen these posts previously they are great for review: (Tweet that!)

Come back on Thursday for a brief look at 2015's amazing worldwide event #3 that is linked to Bible prophecy: the coming Shemitah in September.

2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #1 - The Coming Solar Eclipse in March

Graphic of solar eclipse.
As I listed in my previous post, there are four worldwide events in 2015 that are quite amazing. (Tweet that!) The first of those four will be the total solar eclipse which will occur on March 20, 2015. (Tweet that!)

Unfortunately this eclipse will be visible in only a certain part of the world, and the United States is not in that part. (Tweet that!)

Here is a site where you can see where this solar eclipse will be visible:

Also notice on that site in the upper right-hand corner is a countdown to the eclipse, which I find just pretty cool!

Remember to NEVER look at a solar eclipse. It will damage your eyes. Here are safe ways to observe a solar eclipse. (Tweet that!)

Why is this total solar eclipse an amazing event in 2015? Because it comes in the center of the four total lunar eclipses.(Tweet that!) Two have already passed, on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles in 2014. And the two remaining are yet to come, on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles in 2015. But I'm getting ahead of myself. We'll talk more about those two in the next post on January 13th and the post next Thursday on January 15th.

Furthermore, Biblical scholars say that the "signs in the moon" are messages to the Jewish people."Signs in the sun" are messages to the Gentiles. (Tweet that!) We get that from the Hebrew calendar being based on the moon as opposed to our western calendar being based on the sun.

We also see right in the beginning of the Bible that God created the sun and the moon as "signals": (Tweet that!)

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[or "appointed times]" and for days and years... (Genesis 1:14, ESV).

Therefore many Bible scholars today believe this tetrad (that is, a series of four total lunar eclipses without a partial eclipse in between), with each of the four total lunar eclipses falling on the first or the last of the 7 Jewish Feasts in two consecutive years, 2014 and 2015, to be highly significant prophetically. (Tweet that!) And then this solar eclipse right in the middle...

A solar eclipse right in the middle especially in light of the coming Shemitah later this year...

But again I'm ahead of myself. We'll talk about the Shemitah in Thursday's post on January 15th.

In fact we will talk about all of these events more as they approach. Let these beginning-of-the-new-year posts be just your introduction to these amazing worldwide events if this is the first you've heard of them, or if you've heard of them but don't know much about them. I promise to share what I learn about the Shemitah as I research it more, and I also promise to share more about these eclipses.

To keep up with any new information about this coming solar eclipse on March 20, 2015, you might want to join the Facebook event here:

Please stop back by on Tuesday for the next post where we'll talk about the coming total lunar eclipse, which will be the third in the series of four.

Breaking News Headline: Where was Jesus in the Paris Shootings Wednesday?

Gunmen attacked Charlie Hebdo newspaper
in Paris, France, Jan. 7, 2015.
I'm interrupting the series of blog posts I had planned in order to talk about Wednesday's terrorist shooting in Paris. In my previous post I said the next four posts would be about the coming solar and lunar eclipses and the Shemitah. However I also said:

Certainly we'll witness many unpredictable events also [in 2015]. And as the unforeseeable unfolds in the coming months, we will explore them right here in the light of Bible prophecy. That's what this blog is all about.

This morning I woke up to a couple of Tweet messages directed to me personally. (Tweet that!) This Tweeter, I'll call him "Al," sent me these two Tweets:

Well to answer the first question, Jesus was there. I know He was there, because He is God, come in human flesh. The Ever Present One. The All Knowing. The All Powerful.

Jesus is not "a prophet" like some claim. He has no equal. He is the one true God. Muhammad is not His prophet.

But if Jesus is the one true God, present everywhere, knowing everything even before it happens, the all powerful able to do anything, then that begs the question this Tweet-er was truly asking:

Then why didn't God do something?
What would you want Him to do? My guess is your answer is, "Stop it!"

Better yet, why doesn't God wipe out all evil?

Well the answer is because then He would have to wipe out all of us. Because we all have evil living inside of us. We do evil things. Every one of us. In varying degrees of evil. This is called sin.

Every one of us has sinned against God. If He were to wipe out evil, He'd have to wipe us all out.

I know what you're thinking: "Anything I have done is not anywhere near the evil these terrorist gunman have done!"

Maybe not, by our standards. Human have varying degrees of wrong-doing, and rightly so. The legal penalty for murder is much harsher than for stealing a candy bar. But in God's sight, sin is sin. And all sin is deserving of the death penalty.

You may think that anything you (or I) have done is not as bad as what these (or any) terrorists have done. But then we have to ask, compared to what? Or more precisely, compared to Whom? Compared to Jesus (who was without sin), even our smallest sin colors our lives completely black and deserving of death.

So, you see, we're all in a heap of trouble with God.

But then Jesus stepped into the world and He took that death penalty for sin for every single person of all time who willingly accepts that gift from Him. (Tweet that!)

Will you? Have you? If not, do so now.

That is our only hope, the only way into heaven.

But that still leaves us with the problem of evil on earth, and the desperate heartache of the results of evil, such as these murdered loved ones in Paris. Believe me, my heart breaks for them. I have a special place in my heart for law enforcement officers because I have some in my family. Seeing that police man beg for his life and be shot... Words can't express. I pray for his family. And for all the families of the dead.

It appears as though even God is afraid of Islam.

Yes, it may appear so. But things are not as they appear.

God -- that is, the One True God Who made the heavens and earth -- is not afraid of Islam. Islam does NOT represent the One True God. And there is coming a day when this God, the only God, will put a stop to all of this evil. He will finally deal with every person on earth and He will separate those who have accepted His gift of salvation from all those who refuse.

Personally, I don't think that day is far off. That's why I write this blog. To reach those who will believe in Jesus. Because I truly believe that day of reckoning is coming, and coming sooner than most people believe. (Tweet that!) It's not a thousand years away. It's not even a hundred years away. I believe it is here. Now. Knocking on the door. We're almost out of time.

In the mean time, Islam and terrorism and violence and lies about the true God and war and rumors of war will continue to escalate.

Why is God waiting? He's waiting for the final ones to respond to Him. Is He waiting for you?

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, NIV).

Words of Jesus:

"All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them" (John 16:1-4, NIV).
Dear America:
A Letter of Comfort & Hope
to a Grieving Nation

I came to my conclusions about Jesus through my own experiences of losing loved ones. I told my story in my first book, Dear America. If you're interested, it's available for Amazon's Kindle (in English) in many countries and in print through Amazon.com in America.

The following video remembers the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in the United States, however the message is the same for those in this terrorist shooting in Paris on January 7, 2015, for those who have been beheaded or otherwise killed for their Christian faith, and in fact for all people in oh so many other occasions. Hear what Jesus might say to you if He were here in flesh:

New Year Predictions - 2015 Promises Amazing Events Worldwide

This is the beginning of an amazing year no matter how you look at it. It would be easy at the beginning of this new year to predict that 2015 will hold many incredible events. "Easy" because some of them are already on our calendars! (Tweet that!)

Certainly we'll witness many unpredictable events also. And as the unforeseeable unfolds in the coming months, we will explore them right here in the light of Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!) That's what this blog is all about.

But amazingly there are four events we can predict right now that are coming in 2015 that are important and, I believe, extremely significant spiritually. (Tweet that!)

Do you know what I'm thinking of? (If you've been reading this blog for very long I'm betting you do.)

Four amazing worldwide events coming in 2015 (Tweet that!) are the:

  1. Total Solar Eclipse (visible in only some parts of the world) coming March 20, 2015
  2. Total Lunar Eclipse on Passover (the 3rd of the four "Blood Moons") coming April 4, 2015
  3. The last day of the Shemitah year, which is Elul 29 on the Hebrew calendar and corresponds to [corrected:] sundown September 12, 2015 to sundown September 13, 2015
  4. Total Lunar Eclipse on Sukkot (that's the Feast of Tabernacles) (and is the 4th of the four "Blood Moons") coming September 28, 2015
We'll talk a bit more about each of these four events in the next four posts. We'll study them all more in depth in the coming months, definitely before each event. If you can't wait, I've linked to an article about the Shemitah in that link in #3. I've also created Facebook events for the solar and April lunar eclipses. Please join those by clicking the links in #1 and #2.

While all of these events will be historic, I also believe we will see amazing things happening this year in many countries including Israel, Iraq, and the United States. It's a good bet we'll probably also see significant events in Russia, China, Iran, and other countries. Possibly Egypt? Probably North Korea.

Why do I say this? Because we've already seen events taking place in these nations. Remember the Russian invasion of Crimea? The shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine on July 17, 2014? The Muslim spring in Egypt? The tension over computer hacking at Sony in the U.S. blamed on North Korea? The beheadings in Iraq? Then there is the coming reality of nuclear weapons in Iran.

Nevertheless, this blog is meant to encourage you, not to create fear (see 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11). So please come back on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for new posts. And invite a friend to join you. These posts make great material for discussions among friends, families, or for Bible study groups.

I'll look forward to walking through this year with you as 2015 reveals its amazing worldwide events. Thank you for joining me!
