The "Tree of Hope" at Ground Zero Refuses to Grow

In my previous post, we talked about the death of the "Tree of Hope," which was planted at the site of the fallen Twin Towers at Ground Zero in New York City.

This "Tree of Hope" was a cedar tree that replaced a sycamore tree that was knocked down when the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001. (Tweet that!)

A recent article posted at WND.com on August 9, 2014, offers a great deal more information. Here is a portion of the article, "'Harbinger' author says loss of 'Tree of Hope' a warning" (Tweet that!):

His work examines the nine harbingers, or warnings, recorded in the Bible that were delivered to Israel before the nation disintegrated. He contends God is giving the same nine warnings now to America to urge the nation to repent.
One of the harbingers was a sycamore tree at Ground Zero, which after the destruction of the Twin Towers was replaced by an evergreen, a move Cahn believes follows the Isaiah prophecy.

There is so much more information in the article, you simply have to check it out. If you would like a computer voice to read this article for you, that's available here but it doesn't read all of it:

Hear the WND.com "Harbinger" article about the death of the Tree of Hope read aloud here.    (Tweet that!)

The article continues:

"The ancient sign of nearing national judgment has been manifested. The erez tree has fallen. The seventh harbinger now speaks of impending judgment. The Tree of Hope, the symbol of America’s resurgence … is dead,” he explained."
 (Tweet that!
Read more in the article.

Summing up the meaning of the death and destruction of the Tree of Hope, the article says:

Cahn says America is uncannily re-enacting ancient Israel’s behavior prior to its judgment and eventual fall.

The 7th Harbinger -- the Cedar "Tree of Hope" -- Died at Ground Zero (Video Post)

Did you read this book, The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn? (Tweet that!) It first came out in 2011. If you haven't read it yet, it is incredibly fascinating. It's written as fiction, but the information in it is actually nonfiction.

It starts with the events of the attacks on America of September 11, 2001, (Tweet that!) and goes from there, matching events that have taken place in America with events that took place in ancient Israel just prior to that nation being over run and taken into captivity.

History is repeating itself. In America. In our time. (Tweet that!)

The book talks about nine harbingers -- a series of omens and signs warning of coming destruction.

The 7th of the nine is a tree, a cedar tree to be specific. In ancient Israel, and in the Bible prophecy of Isaiah 9:10, a sycamore tree was destroyed and was replaced by a cedar tree.

During the events of 9/11, a sycamore tree was knocked down. During official events, dignitaries replaced that sycamore tree with a cedar tree which became known as the Tree of Hope.

Guess what has happened to the Tree of Hope? Recently. Here is a short video with Paul Begley about the Tree of Hope.

Jonathan Cahn article in CharismaNews about the Shemitah

We've been talking about the shemitah for a few posts here. If you haven't seen those yet, you might want to visit them. (Tweet that!) Links are at the bottom of this post.

Rabbi and author Jonathan Cahn, who was featured in the previous post's video, has a recent book out about the shemitah. (Tweet that!)

CharismaNews.com featured an article with an excerpt from The Mystery of the Shemitah called "The Mystery of the Shemitah Revealed" (posted 9/30/2014).

Here's an interesting portion of that article:

"At the end of every seven years" refers to the last day of the Sabbath year. Elul was the last month of the Hebrew civil year, and the twenty-ninth day was the last day of Elul. So on Elul 29, the very last day of the Sabbath year, a sweeping transformation took place in the nation's financial realm. Everyone who owed a debt was released. And every creditor had to release the debt owed. So on Elul 29 all credit was erased and all debt was wiped away. (Tweet that!

Below you will find a video with Jonathan Cahn that will teach you much more about the Shemitah. (Tweet that!)

In this video Rabbi and author Jonathan Cahn talks with Pat Robertson of CBN.com about the financial and economic future of the United States and that what affects America affects the world. (Tweet that!)

You will see how five major financial collapses in the past in the United States have been connected to the Shemitah. (Tweet that!)

Don't miss the warning about how, on the Shemitah in 2001 only a week after the Attacks on American of September 11, 2001, the bell that opens the New York Stock Exchange refused to ring. What did it mean? (Tweet that!)

It's exciting! It's fascinating. It's ominous. It's coming.

Introduction to the "Shemitah"

The New York Stock Exchange
(A Morguefile.com photo)
The word shemitah is a Hebrew word that means release, fall, collapse, or shaking. (Tweet that!)

The shemitah is the seventh year in a seven-year cycle. (Tweet that!)

In the Bible, God instructs us to work six days and rest on the seventh, which is the Sabbath. In Jewish culture, this also applied to years: the Jewish people were to work their land for six years and let the land rest on the seventh, the Sabbath year. Again this seventh year in a seven-year cycle is the shemitah year.

(Then there is also a cycle of seven-sevens, which equals forty-nine years. The following year, the fiftieth, is the Year of Jubilee. But that's another topic.)

For the shemitah year, the Jewish people were to not only let the land rest, they were also to cancel all debts between them and their Jewish friends and brothers. (Tweet that!

I know. This sounds incredible to us today, doesn't it? But this entire exercise was a demonstration of how things work in God's economy. It is training in trusting God -- they had to trust God to provide during the years they did not work the land and also trust Him to provide if they graciously cancelled debts owned to them. God also graciously cancels debts owed to Him -- that is the debt of sin which we each must pay for with our lives, unless we trust God-come-in-the-flesh, who is Jesus Christ. In that case, when we trust Jesus as our own savior, our sin-debt is cancelled.

We are currently living in a shemitah year. (Tweet that!)

I gave all of this information to bring us to a point where I could ask and answer one question:
When it comes time for those financial debts to be cancelled, when, exactly, does that transaction take place?
Answer: on the last day of the shemitah year.

When, exactly, is that?

The Jewish or Hebrew calendar, also known as God's calendar, is different than the one we use. For more information on how the Jewish calendar works, see my previous post on April 10, 2014: How the Jewish Calendar Works.

The last month of the Hebrew calendar is called Elul.

Elul has 29 days.

So the last day of the shemitah year is always on Elul 29.

But what does that mean on our calendar? (Tweet that!)

Because our calendars operates differently, this date moves around on the calendar we use in the West. On our calendar, this current shemitah year:
  • began on September 25, 2014
  • and ends on September 13, 2015

That means that the next scheduled day when all debts are cancelled is September 13, 2015.

What happens if God’s people do not pay attention to and observe His instructions? He causes us to observe them anyway, even against our will.

Why is this important? Major and significant financial events have taken place in the United States on the last two shemitahs

  • September 17, 2001: Six days after September 11, 2001, the stock market re-opened and dropped 700 points, or 7%, in one day. This was its greatest loss in its history up to that date. On the Jewish calendar, it was the last day of the Shemitah year: Elul 29.*
  • September 29, 2008: Seven years later, after the government bailout of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and the bankruptcy (rather than accept a government bailout) of Lehmann Brothers, the stock market plunged again. This time it again dropped 7%. In points that 777.7 points. That equated to wiping out everything it had gained in the past seven years. Now this became the largest one-day drop in its history. Again, on the Jewish calendar, it was the last day of the Shemitah year: Elul 29.*

I clearly remember all those sevens. If you don't know it, in the Bible "7" represents completion, perfection, and therefore is known God's numbers. After that day I remember writing on another blog that I did not know what it meant, but God's fingerprints were all over it. Now I'm beginning to understand. Are you?

What do you think all this means for the next last day of the Shemitah year which will occur on September 13, 2015? (Tweet that!)

This is your introduction to the Shemitah. You won't want to miss the next post when Jonathan Cahn will teach you much more about the Shemitah in a video post.

  • *My thanks to the WND.com article, "Israel Rediscovers Shemitah in Time for Blood Moons," posted 6/25/2014. However I noticed a mistake (probably a typo) in this article. It states "Sept 29, 2008, fell on Elul 20" but in fact Sept 29, 2008 actually fell on Elul 29, as confirmed in the linked calendar above. Please don't let that confuse you. I have requested a correction. Meanwhile the rest of the article has valuable information.

Mark Biltz teaches "Shemitah Events" (Video Post)

Book by Bible teacher and
Pastor Mark Biltz
Here is a third interview with Bible teacher Pastor Mark Biltz. This introduces a new piece of the puzzle mystery we are watching unfold before our very eyes. (Tweet that!)

Please take the time to learn about the Shemitah. I feel this is vitally important to every American, and it is coming in less than a year. (Tweet that!)

Trust me. You need to know about this! Have you noticed how the stock market has been fluctuating wildly this week and last week? There's a connection (Tweet that!) and you need to know what it is so you can get prepared.

In this video Mark Biltz introduces several different topics, including (for those of use who have been watching the skies and are fascinated with space stuff) what he says the planet Jupiter getting hit by 21 pieces of a comet back in 1994 has to do with it all. (Tweet that!) You'll have to make up your own mind about that.

He also revisits the history of the most-recent-past Shemitahs which occurred in 2008 and 2001, only seven days after the attacks on America of September 11, 2011. (Tweet that!)

Learn how the Shemitah connects to the largest stock market losses in history. (Tweet that!)

I promise you'll be fascinated. We are going to learn about this Shemitah more in future posts and videos, but here is your introduction to the Shemitah.

correlation to the Jewish Feasts of the LORD back in 2008 and has taught extensively about them, so this is a great overview from him. (Tweet that!)

Also, realize this interview was posted on March 15, 2014. Note that this was before the first lunar eclipse ("Blood Moon") which occurred on April 15, 2014. (Tweet that!)

Mark Biltz teaches "An Introduction to the Blood Moons" (Video Post)

Since I had difficulty finding an
image of Mark Biltz, here's an
image of his book instead.
Yesterday was Columbus Day. In recent years protests over Americans observing this day has escalated. I find this extremely interesting now that I know about the tetrads of Blood Moons and the information about Columbus sailing to the New World in light of what was happening to the Jewish people in Spain at the time he sailed. In fact, the Nina, the Pinta, and Santa Marie were filled with Jewish people who were being expelled from Spain by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. (Tweet that!) Not only that, Columbus' trip was financed by the Jews! Not only that, did you know Columbus was Jewish himself?! (Tweet that!) You can hear more about that in today's video.

As I've mentioned before, I've learned most of what I know about the Feasts of the LORD and the "Blood Moons" from the teachings of Mark Biltz.

I first heard of him on Southwest Radio Church back in 2008 when he was teaching on the Feasts of the LORD. I had heard of the Feasts decades earlier and wanted to know about more. I had also heard that these Feasts are prophetic of, and fulfilled by, Jesus. As a self-proclaimed prophecy geek, I definitely wanted to know more about that. (Tweet that!) I had searched for more information but could not find it. (This was way before the days of the internet!)

But I kept my ear to the ground waiting and watching for information on these things that interested me. This is why, when I heard Mark Biltz that day on the radio, I was so interested. I immediately bought his DVD set and began studying. Obviously I was not the only Christian for whom God had whispered to our hearts that He wanted us to study this information. This is why Mark Biltz has become so popular as a teacher, speaker, and author. There is a hunger among many Christians for information on how the Old Testament informs the New. This hunger is God-designed and instigated, and the excitement of "newly revealed" (Tweet that!) information is catching on and bringing that same excitement to many other Christians...and nonChristians too.

It's not really "new." And it's not really "just revealed." This information has been there ever since the Old Testament was given and written, starting in the days of Moses. But now we are understanding what it all means, what has been waiting for us all along! (Tweet that!)

So here is the first of several video interviews with Pastor Mark Biltz about the four Blood Moons. (Tweet that!) This interview was posted March 14, 2014, which was before the first Blood Moon of April 15, 2014.

After the Lunar Eclipse: Jonathan Cahn talks about the Blood Moons - Part 2 (Video Post)

Rabbi and Author, Jonathan Cahn
Photo from Jonathan Cahn (Official Site) on Facebook
In the previous post we watched part 1 of an interview with Rabbi and author Jonathan Cahn as he talks about the current tetrad cycle of four lunar eclipses we're living within. Today let's watch part 2 of this interview.

As you watch, please pay special attention to what he says is the reason God's judgement is coming to the United States of America. (Tweet that!) That's what these "Blood Moons" and other solar eclipses are signaling: God, in His amazing and beautiful mercy, is sending warnings that something big is about to happen in the earth. It is His judgement that is coming. (Tweet that!)

There are a lot of reasons for God to judge America. But there is one that seems to be the "last straw" that has pushed us over the tipping point. (Tweet that!) Here's a hint: The most recent lunar eclipse -- Blood Moon #2 of four -- was early Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, what virtually no one saw coming was this very topic making headlines earlier that week on Monday. (Tweet that!) Please note this video was recorded last spring on April 18, 2014 (just after the first Blood Moon on April 15, 2014).

I'll see you on the other side of the video and we'll discuss it.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn on Blood Moons, Part 2
Jim Bakker Show
posted April 18, 2014

Did you hear what he said? "For the first time a majority of Americans came out to end the Biblical definition of marriage, including the President. ...And then the Supreme Court..."
Jonathan Cahn's most
recent book (which we all
need to read!) (Tweet that!)

On Monday morning, approximately 36 hours before Blood Moon #2, the United States Supreme Court announced its decision to not hear cases against same-sex marriage brought by several states and consequently, by not allowing any opposition to same-sex marriage in any state, in effect opened the doors in every state for same-sex marriage regardless of what each states wants to do. (Tweet that!)

You may not think this is a big deal, but it's a big deal. Especially to God. The allowing and embracing of same-sex marriage is not the only thing God will judge America for; it is simply the most recent. (Tweet that!) But it is one of the final bridges that would be crossed before God finally says, "Enough."

After the Lunar Eclipse: Jonathan Cahn talks about the Blood Moons - Part 1 (Video Post)

Rabbi and Author, Jonathan Cahn
Photo from Jonathan Cahn (Official Site) on Facebook
Did you see the "Blood Moon," meaning the total lunar eclipse, early yesterday morning?

Many of us gathered together in at the Facebook Event* I created to watch it unfold. That was a lot of fun. We had viewers from Atlanta, Georgia, the Los Angeles, California area, Alaska, Florida, Jamaica, and elsewhere.

Some views got a good view of the beautiful copper-colored eclipsed moon. Others couldn't seen anything due to cloud cover and/or rain in their area.

I got about half and half. We started off well and got to see most of the first half of the eclipse. At my house we got up at 3:00 am and could see it well. We also watched with binoculars, and through a telescope. But about the time it got to the maximum eclipse, the moon got so dark we couldn't see it anymore. We only caught glimpses of it after that. We saw it once more when it just started coming out of eclipse, and then it was gone behind clouds and then the horizon.

Our local news station later that morning confirmed clouds had rolled in and covered the moon, so no one in our area could see it after that.

We were amazed at how much moonlight there was before the eclipse began. Definitely didn't need a nightlight in the house. (Tweet that!)

I was out of town all day on Tuesday and was driving home late in the afternoon. Before dark, I turned onto the highway and was caught by surprise. There was the full moon, right in front of me! It was big and bright white. Knowing I was getting up early the next morning to see the eclipse, that was an awesome and unexpected treat.

In several recent posts I've taught a lot about these lunar eclipses. I thought you might enjoy hearing some other people talk about them and their significance. (Tweet that!) Here is a short video of Rabbi Jonathan Cahn as a guest on the Jim Bakker Show just after the first Blood Moon last April 15, 2014. (Tweet that!) Jonathan Cahn is the author of the popular book The Harbinger and, most recently, The Mystery of the Shemitah. We really must talk about the Shemitah soon, but not today. (It's extremely important. Please look it up if you can't wait for us to get to it.)

I hope you enjoy this part one of this interview. We'll view part two in the next post.

Just After Midnight, View the Lunar Eclipse

Morguefile.com
The day has finally arrived. I hope you're planning on getting up really early tomorrow morning -- or staying up really late this evening -- to view this fascinating lunar eclipse.

To be clear, the eclipse takes place in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 8th.

You're right. This total lunar eclipse won't look any different than any other. But this one is especially fascinating because we are living and watching history. (Tweet that!) I know many people are skeptical that this series of four lunar eclipses means anything different than any other lunar eclipse in history, but I believe they are.

Something spectacular is happening, and we are the generation to be the eyewitnesses. (Tweet that!)

Today is the Day of Atonement

Morguefile.com
Today is the Day of Atonement. It actually began at sundown yesterday.

We learned about the Day of Atonement in advance so you would have that information before today arrived. If you're just now joining us and missed that information, it posted on September 18, 2014. Here's a link:

Five days from now The Feast of Tabernacles begins.

On the Jewish calendar that's next Tuesday evening. On our calendar it's usually noted on Wednesday, October 8.

This year on the Feast of Tabernacles people over much of the earth will experience a total lunar eclipse. This is the second of the tetrad of four total lunar eclipses occurring in 2014 - 2015 on the first and the last annual Feast of the LORD.

That's important. Something is happening. God is communicating. You may not believe that. Or people around you may not while you do. If you do, stand strong. I know with every fiber of my being this is spiritually important. (Tweet that!)

(What if I'm wrong? Well, so what if I'm wrong. I'm calling everyone I can reach to believe in Jesus before time runs out. Even if time doesn't run out very soon, there are worse things to be wrong about. I'd rather make my mistakes calling people to Jesus than telling them they don't need to come to Him.) (Tweet that!)

Furthermore, this is not about scaring people into committing to Jesus Christ. Rather, I know there are lots of people out there who want to know Him, who want to come closer to Him. or who once dedicated their life to Him but drifted away and now want to come back again. Here's the thing: We have fascinating things happening all around us. If you come to Him now, you'll see things in such an amazingly different way! You won't be afraid any more. You'll find peace. Yes, even in the upheaval of our day. (Tweet that!)

If you don't yet know Jesus as your Savior, simply acknowledge that you are a sinner. You've done things wrong, you acknowledge all sin leads to death, and so you are in need of a Savior. Then acknowledge that Jesus is the only Savior. Only Jesus can reconcile you to God the Father. Ask Him to be your personal Savior. Then thank Him because it's a done deal! Amen!

If you prayed that, then today has become your Day of Atonement! Jesus is your atonement. He is mine. Hallelujah! (Tweet that!)

Tips for Viewing the Lunar Eclipse Early Morning October 8th

Morguefile.com
We are continuing to look forward with anticipation to the next lunar eclipse coming very early next Wednesday morning (stay up late Tuesday evening!).

Last April 15, when we enjoyed the first of the four lunar eclipses we're currently living in the middle of, I learned a few things while watching the eclipse that I wanted to remember and share. (Tweet that!)

  • First, I expected to have to stand outside in the cold to watch. Turns out, the entire event was visible from my south-facing windows.
  • I have a telescope and it was fun to get that up-close view of the beautiful red or copper-colored moon. So if you have a telescope, definitely use it.
  • However it was almost easier to track the moon in eclipse as it moved across the sky with hand-held binoculars, so dig yours out and dust them off. You'll really enjoy them. (Tweet that!)
  • Don't have either a telescope or binoculars? No problem. It was also very beautiful to see and watch the eclipse of the moon with the naked eye. (It is safe to watch a lunar -- moon -- eclipse with the naked eye. It is not safe to do so with a solar -- sun -- eclipse.)
  • It's fun to get some hot cocoa, a lawn chair, a coat and/or blanket and watch outside.
  • Finally, join the Facebook Lunar Eclipse Watch Party Event. Click "Going" and then click to share with your Facebook friends. Please invite all your friends and family members and neighbors to join also – it's open to anyone interested, no matter their location. (Tweet that!)

Before I let you go, let me remind you that tomorrow at sundown begins Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, a most solemn day. Time to look inside and see: Have you allowed Jesus to atone for your sins? If not, do so today by telling Him in prayer that's what you want. (Tweet that!)

Read more about the Jewish holy day, and the 6th of the 7 Feasts of the LORD, the Day of Atonement here:

Remember that this is not a Jewish-only holiday because our God did not call them the "Feasts of the Jews" but the "Feasts of the LORD." These Feasts belong to anyone who belongs to the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Tweet that!)
