Christmas Advent Day 1: And He Shall Be Called the Son of God (Video Post)

Welcome to Advent Season!

Advent means "coming," and in this season after Thanksgiving we look forward to the coming of the Messiah.

Of course this is the Bible Prophecies Fulfilled blog, and so this is an excellent time to remember the prophecies in the Bible that were fulfilled in the Advent of Jesus -- meaning the first coming of Jesus. (Tweet that!)

In the previous post I mentioned that I was planning something special for the Advent Season. There's a bit of a story behind it.

A few months ago I heard from a reader, Angela, who said this blog looked really interesting, and the topics looked intriguing, but she didn't have time to read all my posts. However, she pitched me a suggestion: Why didn't I put this information on my blog into videos? (Tweet that!)

I thought, What? Me? On video?!

Yikes.

I'll admit the idea was a bit intimidating. Nevertheless I did think it was a good idea. So I'm giving it a try.

Through this Advent Season, between now and Christmas, I'm planning a series of short videos about some of the Bible prophecies fulfilled in the birth of Jesus.

Since I post three times a week -- on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays -- that gives us twelve posts between now and Christmas.

And here (double Yikes!) is the first one.

In this little video I talk about the prophecy from Isaiah that says Jesus would be called the Son of God.  (Tweet that!) The references I use are:

  • Isaiah 7:14 Please note Isaiah worked as a prophet in Israel from 740 B.C. until at least 681 B.C.. So his prophecy was given 700+ years before Jesus was born!
  • Luke 1:35 When the angel Gabriel gave Mary the news that she would give birth to the Christ child, he also told her that her Son would be called the Son of the Most High.
Enjoy the video: (Angela, this is for you!)

I hope you enjoyed hearing me on video! If you did, please invite your friends, contacts, and family to join us too. (Tweet that!)

I'll see you next time for Day 2 in our 12 days for Christmas Advent.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Morguefile.com
Happy Thanksgiving!

To those readers outside the United States, today is an American (and Canadian) holiday in which we give thanks to the God of the Bible for His provision and blessing.

We will be back on Saturday and will resume the three times a week posts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

When we resume, we're going to take some time away from the troubles of the world.  I'm preparing a special series of posts for the Advent season. (Tweet that!)

After Thanksgiving, the Advent season begins. The season of Advent looks forward to the coming of the Christ, which we celebrate on Christmas.

In this series of posts through the Advent season, we are going to take a look at several Bible prophecies that have already been perfectly fulfilled 100%!

This will actually be just a handful of the many prophecies that were fulfilled in the first coming of the Messiah. (Tweet that!)

I hope you will enjoy this special Advent series of Bible prophecies fulfilled as we look forward to our celebration of the first coming of Christ. (Tweet that!) Please invite a friend or your family or church family to join us. (Tweet that!) Or spread the word via social media.

Thank you.  See you on Saturday.

How the United States of America is Like First-Century Israel in the Bible

The White House
Public Domain Images
As I wrote my previous post, "Lawlessness" in Bible Prophecy: Are We Seeing It Now?, it occurred to me how much we, here in the United States, are like that first-century crowd  in Israel who witnessed the first coming of Jesus.

So many people in our day see the problems facing our world and the devastation that is coming. In the United States we see the wrong-doing and the wrong choices being made and forced upon us by those in leadership in our nation. (Tweet that!)

We know that the United States of America is not too big to fail. (Tweet that!)

We are desperate for solutions. We know the solutions--moving back towards the one true God of the Bible, His way of doing things, and honoring Him in our nation--and yet we are helpless to carry out any such ideas because most of those in leadership insist on going their own way, on not listening to the people, on forcing wrong policies on us. We do have some good people in leadership, but they are too few, even when they band together, to overcome the majority who are taking us in the wrong direction.

As so what do we do? We look forward to the next election. We hope that the next election will remove more of those who are leading our country in the wrong direction and will put into places of leadership and power more people who will lead us in a right direction.

But we have been trying to correct the course our country is on for several elections now, and while we may make progress, it has not yet been enough to make a difference in the direction our nation is moving in between those elections.

Our elections of our political leaders are too few and too far in between, while meanwhile decisions are being made every week or every day that take us farther down the wrong path.

We are looking for a political solution to our problems.

This is exactly what the first-century people in Israel were doing the first time Jesus came. They expected Jesus to be a political leader who would deliver them from the occupying forces of Rome and their Roman oppressors.

Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself. (John 6:15, ESV)

Don't get me wrong. Please! I am so very grateful for the hard work of those who run for office and campaign so hard to win in order to become our leaders who will turn this country back toward the right course.

I am also so very grateful for those conservative commentators who work so hard to education the people and make a difference in our county.

I believe history will honor men like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity for their extraordinary efforts to make a positive difference in the United States of America.

However, as I watch them and listen, and as I watch our elections, I am reminded of their past campaigns such as Sean Hannity's "Defeat Obama Express" and Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos." And yet despite all their efforts, President Obama still won the election. Again.

So what does this say? To me it says we will not find a political solution.

So what are we to think about these men and their efforts? I believe these conservative commentators are doing a remarkable job that must be done. (And these are only two examples of many men and women who are doing similar work.) They are talking about what is wrong with our nation, and because of them in the end there will be no excuse for anyone not knowing what was going on, what was wrong, and what could have been done to make it right. (Tweet that!) In a very real sense, they are doing God's work.

But at the same time, I don't believe there will be a political solution to the problems facing America. I don't believe we will be able to wait for enough elections to replace those leading us in a wrong direction with those who would lead is in a right direction.

I believe it's all too little and too late. I believe we're already over the cliff; it's just going to take us a while to hit the bottom. Yes, I'm pretty pessimistic about the future of the United States of America.

That's probably why political commentators don't talk about Bible prophecy. That's probably also why I wouldn't make a good talk show host. (Tweet that!)

To those who are doing such work, whether in political commentary or in running for office, please keep on. Keep working. Don't ever give up. We need you. I need you. Keep on doing good. Keep on calling out wrong, promoting right, and defining the difference. (Tweet that!)

In the end, we need to know that everything that possibly could be done to redirect our nation onto a right path, right in God's sight, has been done. That's important. (Tweet that!)

But in the end, the Bible prophecies will be fulfilled. So whether that comes sooner or later, whatever happens in or to the United States of America, the ultimate answer is not in politics but in individuals and national leaders looking to and following the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Lawlessness" in Bible Prophecy: Are We Seeing It Now?

The White House at Night
Public Domain Images
In my August 14, 2014, post, I mentioned the topic of "lawlessness" and that this would be a discussion for another day. Maybe that's a good topic for today. (Tweet that!) Did you know the term "lawlessness" is in the Bible in regard to prophecy?

Back on August 14, we were looking at that prophetic chapter in the Bible where Jesus talked with his disciples about what would be happening in the End Times, just before his return. Jesus was answering the question his disciples asked about what would be signs that he was coming soon?

In answer, Jesus gave a list of many things that would be happening in our world that would be "signs." Within this context, Jesus said in verses 12, this:

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12, NKJV).

To me, lawlessness means a total disregard for the law. It means not only that the law is not followed, but there is an attitude that a person doesn't care if the law is followed. How much worse is that situation when law enforcement officers are instructed not to enforce the laws (which has been happening in the United States for years)? And how much worse from that does it get when the highest ranking officials in the nation disregard the law?

This week the news is buzzing with President Barack Obama's speech Thursday night and his Executive Order signed Friday reforming the immigration laws of the United States. (Tweet that!) Both sides are arguing whether this, and other changes President Obama has made (for example changes to his Health Care Law), are indeed legal. Please note just because the President, in his speech, said what he is doing is completely legal doesn't mean it is.

Do you remember what the oath says that every President swears or affirms before he (or she) takes office? Here it is:

The oath of office of the President of the United States is an oath or affirmation required by the United States Constitution before the President begins the execution of the office. The wording is specified in Article TwoSection OneClause Eight:
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:— “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”  Wikipedia

Interestingly, it is this very same Constitution of the United States that makes him President in the first place.

Also, just because the President, or anyone else, quotes the Bible does not mean he or they are using that quote in context or with its true meaning. I always find it interesting when people who, on any other day, act or speak as though they are so opposed to what the Bible has to say attempt to use it to defend and justify what they are doing. That should be a red flag to anyone. (Tweet that!)

According to Bible prophecy, a time of complete lawlessness will come before the Antichrist appears. Am I saying what President Barack Obama has done completes that and fulfills that Bible prophecy? No. The prophesied lawlessness will be world-wide, not just in the United States.

Secondly, am I saying President Barack Obama is the Antichrist? For heaven's sake, NO. Did I answer that clearly enough? I only brought up this question to answer it because I've heard the question asked so many times. No, Barack Obama is not the Antichrist. (There are many factors about the Antichrist described in the Bible that President Obama does not fit. He is not the Antichrist.)

But I do believe everything, everything, in the world is being moved into place like chess pieces preparing the way for Antichrist to come.

For Antichrist to prosper, take over, lead the world and be followed and even loved by the majority of people, lawlessness must exist. There must be no regard for the good laws of this Christian land and no regard for the laws of God. (Tweet that!)

Lawlessness has moved up the ranks from some individuals (the world has always had at least some lawless individuals), to many more individuals (though not all), to world leaders. (Tweet that!)

This is my prediction: Lawlessness will increase. Worldwide. And history will show the actions of this President plays a part in that and paves the way for more. (Tweet that!)

Pastor John Hagee Shares 900-Year-Old Extra-Biblical Prophecy Predicting Messiah Will Come in 2017

Pastor John Hagee
You may know Pastor John Hagee as the popular preacher on TV - one of the few pastors actually teaching about and talking about the End Times.

You may know him as the author of the book Four Blood Moons: Something Is About to Change.

You many know him as the founder of Christians United for Israel.

In any case, I was catching up on watching some of his church services I had recorded and one of them caught my attention with something I really wanted to share with you. So I took the time to transcribe a portion of what he said.

This aired on Daystar (I get it on channel 369 on DirectTV) on October 26, 2014. It is the portion of the hour-long show that starts at approximately minute 39.

Quoting Pastor Hagee:

A prophetic statement by Rabbi Ben Samuel. He lived in the twelfth century.  That's nine hundred years ago. Rabbi Ben Samuel was called the light of Israel. He wrote his prophecy for the future on paper and told his followers not to open it until after he had died. Rabbi Ben Samuel wrote down these three facts 900 years ago:
1.) God has divided time into modules of 50 years. Now that's a Jubilee. That's the fulfillment of the Jubilee Year. And He has said that Israel will be invaded by the Ottoman Empire in the future and the Ottoman Empire is going to rule for eight Jubilees.
So 8 x 50 is 400.

From the day in 1517 when the Ottoman Empire invaded until 1917, 400 years, to the day, when General Allenby rode into Jerusalem and conquered Jerusalem without firing a shot.

His prophecy came true to the day and hour.
2.) Secondly Rabbi Ben Samuel wrote, Israel will become a no-man's land for one Jubilee, meaning 50 years. So from 1917 until 1967, talk about the no-man's land. There's no way he could have known this.

Because of the British mandate, the British ruled over the Jewish people. While it was the Jewish land, the Jewish people had no right of self-determination. They could live there, but the British told them what they could and could not do. And in fact most of the time [inaudible] against the Jewish people in their own land.

Then, he said that will last one fifty-year block. That brings us to 1967. What happened in 1967? The 6 Day War. Israel defeated 5 nations in 6 days. Israel, the land of Israel, was increased 400%.  Four times in one day. Jerusalem was reunited. The Jewish people for the first time in 1850 years could pray at the Western Wall.
Then, listen to this, Rabbi Samuel said, within the next Jubilee, Messiah will come.

1967 and 50 is 2017.
Now I’m not setting a date, and don’t you go out of here saying Pastor Hagee said Jesus is coming back in 2017. I’m telling you what someone who has been dead for 900 years wrote down.

Now, of course, this is an "extra-Biblical" prophecy, meaning it comes from outside of the Bible, the Holy Spirit-inspired, inerrant Word of God. (Tweet that!) Therefore we can't give this prophecy as much weight as the prophecies given in the Bible, which must all come true. Nevertheless, I find it very interesting. (Tweet that!) Don't you?

Tweet this!: #Prophecy given 900 years ago: Ottoman Empire would rule 8 Jubilees (8x50=400). Came true: 1517-1917 to the day.

Tweet this!: #Prophecy said Israel would become a no-man's land for one Jubilee. Came true 1917-1967.

Tweet this!: Final part of #prophecy: Messiah will come in the next #Jubilee: 1967 + 50 = 2017

More Strange Sounds from the Heavens - Are They in Bible Prophecy? (Video Post)

In the last post we had a video of strange sound people are hearing and capturing on video coming from the skies all over the world.

I found more videos on these strange phenomena of sounds in the skies so I thought I would share them also. (Tweet that!)

Could these be some of the "signs in the heavens" predicted to take place in the End Times in Bible prophecy? (Tweet that!)

I don't know the answer to that.  It's not what I had pictured as a fulfillment of that prophecy, but then I don't really know.

This first one was posted very recently, on November 14, 2014. (Tweet that!) It took place in Arizona and runs 2:27:

This next one took place in Cambridge, Ontario on July 22, 2014, (Tweet that!) and was posted the next day.  It runs 2:37:

And finally this one kind of sums it all up. It includes some repeats of video you've already seen, but there is also more plus it includes many locations and dates, which I really appreciate. (Tweet that!) It runs 26:23 and the title of the video is "Trumpets, Explosions, Strange Sounds, Coming from the Heavens!"

I note that because we've been talking about the Feast of Trumpets, so I'm fascinated some hear trumpets in these sounds.

If you have any ideas what these strange sounds from the heavens might be, or if you think they might link to fulfilling prophecies in the Bible, please let your thoughts in the comments. (Serious, helpful comments only, please. Spam will be deleted.)

What's Causing Strange Sounds Around the World? (Video Post)

Strange sounds in the air heard all over the world.
In the previous post we heard author and teacher Jonathan Cahn teach more about the Feast of Trumpets. Today's video reminds me of the Feast of Trumpets because of the strange sounds being heard from the skies all over the world! (Tweet that!)

I saw this earlier this year and I can't figure out what it is. Maybe you can. (Tweet that!)

I thought it was unusual enough and interesting enough that I want to share it with you.

I read one comment that indicated some scientists think these sounds might be caused by the earth getting ready to reverse its polarity -- the magnetic south pole and the north pole. (Tweet that!) They say this would be devastating to life on earth, but I don't understand enough to share anything more with you about that.

At times it sounds to me like a chorus singing.  At times it sounds like trumpets. At times it sounds like a shofar (ram's horn trumpet). (Tweet that!) Other times it sounds to me like that UFO in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. (Yes, I know. That one's admittedly fiction!)

I also noticed that all the people taking video and audio of these sounds had their cameras pointed toward the sky. The people in the videos are also looking toward the sky. Clearly everyone involved is reacting in a way that shows these sounds are coming from the sky. (Tweet that!)

What do you think this is?

(Please note this video has some language sensitive viewers may not appreciate. But I feel the content is valuable and interesting enough that I hope you can overlook that.)

Jonathan Cahn Teaches About the Bible's Feast of Trumpets (Video Post)

Author and Speaker Jonathan Cahn
We recently studied here on this blog the Feast of Trumpets, which took place on September 24 (evening) - 25. If you missed that discussion, it's easy to learn that material or review using the links at the bottom of this post.

I recently came across a video of author and teacher Jonathan Cahn teaching more about the Feast of Trumpets (Tweet that!), and it was so good and had so much to say about the End Times and the "End Times Church" as he calls it, that I wanted to share it here.

This video was posted on October 6, 2014 and runs 8:55. It is called "The Coming Great Moed."

moed is a Hebrew word meaning "Feast." In the Bible, it is the word used when talking about what we have called here the Feasts of the LORD. (Tweet that!)

We see it used in Genesis 1:14 (ESV):

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years..."

The word "seasons" in this English translation does not mean "seasons" like we might think of: spring, summer, fall, winter. But it means "appointed time." It could be a fixed time or season. It means a signal. (Tweet that!) This is the Hebrew word "Moed."

When we talk about the End Times, we are talking about an appointed time, appointed by God. (Tweet that!) When we talk about the lunar eclipses falling on the first and last Feast of the LORD in 2014 and 2015, these Feasts are appointed times or "moeds." (Tweet that!)

All of these things we are seeing take place in our day are happening at God's appointed times. (If that doesn't send a shiver up your spine, it should.) (Tweet that!)

Here is Jonathan Cahn teaching about "The Coming Great Moed":

This video does not allow embedding. Please click to watch it on YouTube:
"The Coming Great Moed"
(Posted October 6, 2014, Runs 8:55.)

I am very excited to bring you a special video in the next post. It is kind of "weird." It's a bit different from the norm on this blog because I try to stick to what can be show (as in Scripture) or what experts or authorities are saying. But let's do something different for a few posts.

This is something a friend told me about last spring or early summer. Honestly, I have no idea what is happening in this video, but I don't believe it is "photo-shopped" or faked. I think it is real. But if turns out I'm duped, I'll be the first to admit it. Frankly I don't know what it is. Perhaps you'll know and can enlighten us.

I'm going to share these videos in the next few posts following this teaching on the Feast of Trumpets because to me it sounds like "trumpets," or at times a chorus singing or a symphony playing, and so in a strange way my mind links it with possibly a very soon-coming Feast of Trumpets. (Tweet that!)

Please stop back by on the Saturday for the first of those videos.

What Does the Bible Say About When America Speaks Against Israel? (Video Post)

What happens when America turns against or speaks against Israel?

What happens when any nation, people, or person, turns or speaks out against Israel? (Tweet that!)

Genesis 12:3 gives this promise from God, right from the beginning of the Bible:
I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse...

Did you know that only a few weeks ago, leaders in America, meaning President Obama's administration, publicly rebuked Israel for building settlements on its own land? (Tweet that!)

In return, Israel's leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, rebuked American saying this criticism of Israel is "against the American values." (Tweet that!)

I believe it is written in prophecy, meaning it is written in the future history of the world, that all nations, including America, will turn against Israel. But God will supernaturally protect Israel. (Tweet that!)

When we, whether as individuals or as a nation, turn against Israel, we are on the wrong side of history and are in great danger of judgment from God. (Tweet that!)

But as individuals, we can support Israel and pray for the peace and protection of Israel, no matter what our nation or our leaders do. (Tweet that!)

Six Events that Must Happen Before the Rapture According to Bible Prophecy (Video Post)

Author John Shorey
In the previous post we heard from author John Shorey about fascinating calculations he has made from the Solar Eclipse coming next March 20, 2015, to the Feast of Trumpets in 2018. (Tweet that!) If you missed that, you can find a link at the end of this post.

Today, here's a short video with more information from author John Shorey.  He talks about six things that must happen before the Rapture. (Tweet that!)

Some of them have already occurred. (Tweet that!)

Most of these we have talked about on this blog. (Tweet that!)

Most people I know who believe in the Rapture believe it will happen before the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation Period, although there are other theories including the Mid-Tribulation theory. (Tweet that!) This means the Rapture would occur three and a half years into, or half way through, the Tribulation Period.  This is Mr. Shorey's position and he gives a compelling case for it. (Tweet that!)

I haven't read any of his books, but I admit I'm interested and am putting them on my to-read list.

Here is today's short video which took place on Pastor Jim Bakker's show with author John Shorey as a guest:

Israel turns 70 years old in 2018 - Signs in Bible Prophecy Must Be Significant (Video Post)

Front Page of The Jerusalem Post
May 16, 1948

For Wikimedia Foundation. Fair use.
For many years, I have looked at the year Bible prophecy was fulfilled as Israel once again became a nation - 1948 - along with the Scripture verse that says a "generation" is 70 years, and I have strongly believed something significant would happen in the world as Israel turned 70 years old. (Tweet that!)

The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years... (Psalm 90:10a, NKJV)

Combine those ideas with Jesus' prophetic words in Matthew 24:

Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (Matthew 24:33-34, NIV 1984)

In past decades, Israel's 70th birthday seemed so far in the future. Not so any more.  (Tweet that!)

Israel was reborn in 1948, so it will turn 70 years old in 2018. (Tweet that!)

Suddenly I'm hearing other people express the same thoughts: connecting these same Scriptures. Talking about something significant happening as Israel turns 70.  Connecting End Times with Israel's 70th birthday and the generation that "will certainly not pass away until..." (Tweet that!)

Here is a video of Pastor Jim Bakker talking with author John Shorey. I'll admit I haven't been familiar with John Shorey, but I find what he has to say very interesting.

Take note not only of what he says about Israel nearing its 70th birthday, but also about:

As John Shorey asks, how can all these signs in Bible prophecy show up at the same time and they not have significance? (Tweet that!)

Dates of First Ebola Diagnosis and Death in America Linked to Bible Prophecy (Video Post)

By CDCCynthia Goldsmith
[Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons
We all watched the first Ebola patient diagnosed in America, Thomas Eric Duncan. We watched as his diagnosis was announced. We learned he came from Liberia and ended up in Texas.

We watched as others he came in contact with were quarantined and as health workers who helped him were diagnosed.

But I did not catch on to the dates these events happened. Did you?! (Tweet that!)

I didn't catch that the dates he got sick and the day he died were significant dates in Bible prophecy that we've been looking at on this blog. (Tweet that!)

We were busy watching the last three Feasts of the Lord take place and studying what they represent, including the Feast of Trumpets on September 24-25. The Feast of Trumpets is the next prophetic Feast to be fulfilled by Jesus.

And then we were busy here on this blog watching the lunar eclipse, the second of the four "Blood Moons, early on October 8, 2014, and the Feast of Tabernacles began that evening.

I didn't notice that Thomas Eric Duncan first started feeling ill on September 24, the beginning of the Feast of Trumpets. (Tweet that!)

I didn't notice that the day Thomas Eric Duncan died of Ebola was October 8, the second Blood Moon and the beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles. (Tweet that!)

As a matter of fact, I would not have put that together if I hadn't seen this video with Jim Bakker (Tweet that!), posted October 18, 2014 (runs 5:40):

Will the 7-years of the Tribulation period prophesied in the Bible begin?
