27 Interesting Things that will Happen in September and October 2015 (Video post)

If you saw the previous post, the same friend who shared that Big List Of 33 Things That Are Going To Happen In September 2015 also shared this video with me.

I found it very interesting. Like the previous post's article, this video also shares information that is new to me. (Tweet that!)

I won't keep you longer so you can enjoy the video. It runs about 20 minutes. (Tweet this!)

33 Important Happenings in September 2015

Combination Western and Jewish
calendar by
El Shaddai Ministries
A friend shared with me this list of 33 things that will happen in September 2015 compiled by blogger Michael Snyder.

It includes many events we've been talking about here on the blog, including the Shemitah day (on September 13th, next Sunday), the partial solar eclipse on that day (next Sunday), and the fourth and final (of the current tetrad of four) total lunar eclipses on major Jewish holy days.

But this list also includes a bunch of other events. Some of these events I was aware of such as the Pope's visit to the United States. Some I was vaguely aware of – I heard something about a large meteor headed our way? Others are new to me, such as the agenda of the United Nations and something about the Hadron Collider? (Tweet that!

Anyway, I thought you'd find this article interesting so I'm sharing it. (Tweet that!) But let me warn you…this blog has far more scary overtones than I try to have here. I try to let you know the facts and encourage your faith in Jesus to carry us through whatever is coming. I hope to build in you triumphant faith, trusting Jesus to hold us in the palm of His hand. (Tweet that!) This blog I'm sharing is much more dooms-day-ish. After all, the blog is called "End of the American Dream."

So please check it out for the information it provides, but do not let your hearts be troubled.

The Coming Solar Eclipse on the Shemitah

The coming Shemitah 2015 with
the partial solar eclipse will be
September 13, 2015, also known
as Elul 29.
Back in July we were talking about the coming Shemitah…back before we got off on the topic of the 9th of Av and other topics. I've discovered more about the Shemitah that I'd like to share. Did you know there is going to be a partial solar eclipse ON the day of the  coming Shemitah?

There are actually two partial solar eclipse events this year – in 2015. One is already past. (Tweet that!) It took place back on March 20th and we talked about how it was occurring on the exact day that was the mid-point of this Shemitah year. (Tweet that!)

There will also be a partial solar eclipse on the Shemitah day itself. (Tweet that!)

Again I'm learning so much from author and teacher Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. Here is a bit from his book The Mystery of the Shemitah. Keep in mind that his book came out in 2014, before this partial solar eclipse which is now in our past:

During 2015 there will be two solar eclipses. Interestingly both of them will bear significance with regard to the Shemitah's timing. One will mark the Shemitah's exact center point. The other will mark its climactic last day, Elul 29. The last time a solar eclipse fell on Elul 39 of a Shemitah year was twenty-eight years earlier in September 1987. It ushered in the greatest stock market percentage crash in American history that same month.
(The Mystery of the Shemitah by Jonathan Cahn, page 40.)

Notice that the previous solar eclipse on a Shemitah day was 28 eight years ago. Remember that a Shemitah is the 7th year of a 7-year cycle. So that was four Shemitahs ago. (Tweet that!) We've discuss what happened on the previous two in previous posts on this blog. See Related Articles below. If you want to know more about the happenings in 1987 I recommend you get his book.

In coming posts we'll learn more about the Shemitah from Jonathan Cahn's book.

Taking a Closer Look at the Shemitah and Bible Prophecy

We've touched on the "Shemitah," what it is and why it's important on this blog in many previous posts (see "Related Articles" below), but always with the promise that we'd talk about it more and in depth as it approached. The next Shemitah day, which only comes around every 7 years, is coming this September 13, 2015, which is a Sunday. So what do you say? Isn't it time to take a closer look at the Shemitah and Bible prophecy? This month let's explore more and learn about the Shemitah. (Tweet that!)

This next Shemitah might have very significant importance for America. (Tweet that!) I base that prediction on the fact that the previous two Shemitahs – 7 years ago in 2008 and 7 years before that in 2001 – both saw significant events.

So if those previous two events on the Shemitah were warnings from God, how many warnings will we get? (Tweet that!) Only two and then the warned judgment from God comes this year? Or will His mercy give us even more warnings?

You can find a quick introduction to the Shemitah in my post last October 21, 2014: Introduction to the Shemitah.

This month, and probably beyond, we're going to take a closer look at the Shemitah and what it might mean for America. (Tweet that!) So please come back on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for new posts.

Here are three great ways you can enjoy this blog…and you can do all three:

  1. Bring a friend or you're whole Sunday or church school class or study group.
  2. Receive the posts automatically in your email inbox. To get them by email use the sign up form always in the upper right of this page. Enter your email address then open the confirmation email you receive and click the confirmation link.
  3. Join my "Shemitah and Partial Solar Eclipse (#BlackSun) Watch Party" Facebook Event by clicking that link and selecting "Going." Here you'll get links to my articles and updates. You can also see links to new posts on my Facebook page if you'll visit that page and click Like.

I'm looking forward to taking a closer look at the Shemitah with you this month as I share what I've studied and learned about it and its spiritual significance in the real world.

July 31, 2015 U P D A T E!

Another Partial Solar Eclipse Will Occur on Shemitah -- Plus Easter Moments Countdown Days 13 & 12

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
With the total solar eclipse of March 20, 2015, in the past, we can now look forward to another partial solar eclipse falling on an important prophetic date. Does it surprise you that there will be another partial solar eclipse on the Shemitah itself?!

It did me.

Again it makes sense to give you links to articles I've already written on this blog instead of rewriting the same information. Here are two article on this very topic.

Here's the article posted on January 29 of this year:

And here's an article about my Facebook Event for the Shemitah, which you can join now, on the blog on January 31 earlier this year:

Please use the link on that page to find the Facebook Event so you'll be in the loop for articles and information when I ramp up for that event later this year. Thank you!

One last thing:

Please don't forget the "Four Blood Moons Movie" showing one day only this coming Monday, March 23.

Find a theater near you on that site. Get your tickets now. I'll post a reminder about it again on Monday. See you then.

Today's Total Solar Eclipse: What Does It Mean? - Messianic Jewish Teacher Jonathan Cahn Video

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
I hope my efforts here on the blog and on the Facebook Event have made your experience of today's total Solar Eclipse impressive and memorable.

I hope I've helped you learn something new about solar eclipses and, more importantly to me, the spiritual and prophetic significance of these events.

Here's one more tidbit if interesting information:

  • Today, March 20, 2015, the same day as this partial solar eclipse is the exact mid-point of this Shemitah year according to the Jewish calendar.
To me that is absolutely fascinating, especially since the next partial solar eclipse (at least that I'm aware of) will occur exactly on the Shemitah: September 13, 2015. We will review what we've learned about that in tomorrow's post.

Today I'd like to share the same video I posted on my blog post last October 11. Instead of sending you there I'll just post the video here for your convenience. The video itself was posted on You Tube almost a year ago, on April 18, 2014.

If you think back to our world only a short year ago, we had not yet experienced much of

ISIS or

beheadings or

ebola coming the United States...

This video takes only 10 minutes to watch, but it is packed with information AND encouragement! Please take a little time out to watch...

posted April 18, 2014

Next we'll turn our attention from today's total solar eclipse to the next events coming up:

  • the partial Solar Eclipse coming on the Shemitah day this coming September 13, 2015.
  • The Four Blood Moon Movie showing only on Monday, March 23.
  • And the, of course, the 3rd total Lunar Eclipse in the early morning hours of Passover, the day before Easter, April 4, 2015.

Where and When to See Tomorrow's Total Solar Eclipse -- Plus Easter Moments Countdown Days 15 & 14

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
The March 20th, 2015, total solar eclipse will occur in the early morning hours tomorrow.

Unless you're vacationing or living with Santa Claus, you probably won't be able to see it live because it's showing at the North Pole.

I'm counting on all of us being able to see it through news on TV, perhaps photos posted online. I don't know, really. We'll all have to wait and see who helps us witness this event. I'm just sure somebody will!

If you want to know where exactly it will be visible, which is fun to know, you can see on site at this link:

This total solar eclipse will not be visible where I live in the United States. Where I live, the sun won't even be up at the time the eclipse takes place. The eclipses will take place very early tomorrow morning. Just to give you an idea, if you are somewhere in middle-America, from your vantage point the eclipse will begin somewhere around 1:40 AM and will end sometime around 5:50 AM.

Nevertheless, it's an event to be "watching" (remotely) and to be aware of.

If you find a great link to a photo, news story, scientific video, or other means of viewing this solar eclipse, would you please leave a link in the comments section below? Thanks!

Friday's Total Solar Eclipse at the North Pole Extremely Rare

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
While I was reviewing my previously posted article for today, I re-discovered something I'd forgotten: the partial solar eclipse last April was visible only in southern parts of the world, such as Australia.

I didn't realize something last spring when I wrote that article because I hadn't yet learned something else: Friday's total solar eclipse will be seen at the exact opposite end of the earth. Isn't that fascinating?

I learned that Friday's solar eclipse will be visible at the North Pole only recently. And according to the article I read that in, that is very rare. I'll share that article below as well.

This week, rather than re-writing the ton of information I've already researched and written on solar eclipses, I'm re-sharing those articles. So please take a few moments to click over to the articles I'm sharing this week to review and remember what we've learned previously (I'm amazed at how much I'd forgotten):

Here is my article about last April's solar eclipse:

Here is the article I discovered just this past week. It has some really fascinating information about the rarity of Friday's eclipse:

Does it feel to you like for Friday's total solar eclipse at the North Pole it's as if God is looking down over the whole earth?

The Science Behind Solar Eclipses Like the One Coming Friday March 20, 2015 -- Plus Easter Moments Countdown Days 17 & 16

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
Last June, when there was a partial solar eclipse, we looked at the science behind solar eclipses like the one coming this Friday, March 20, 2015.

I reviewed those posts as I prepared this one. There is an amazing amount of awesome and interesting information there. Obviously there's no reason to re-write it. Please allow me to direct you to that series of three posts. I hope you'll take the time to explore this information:

Part 1 explains the science when solar eclipses happen. Then I talk about why this particular one is important in light of Christian #prophecy:

Part 2 of my series of posts last summer teaches about the four types of solar eclipses. In this post you'll learn the language and find definitions of the words you'll hear, such as umbra and penumbra, which describe the two shadows the moon casts. Then you'll learn about total, partial, annular, and hybrid solar eclipses:

In Part 3 of my series of articles you'll find a schedule of five of the celestial events we're looking at on this blog:

If you're enjoying this information about the coming solar eclipse on Friday, March 20, 2015, please share it with your contacts. Thank you!

Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses and Movies, Oh My -- 3 Events You Need to Know About

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
We have an incredibly busy week coming up because we have three events on our horizon to talk about, the first of which is coming in the early morning hours this Friday: the total solar eclipse on March 20, 2015.

This will be followed by the third of the four total lunar eclipses, or "Blood Moons," coming early Passover morning which is Saturday April 4, 2015. Of course this event is followed closely this year by Easter on Sunday April 5th.

Then a new interesting source of information has cropped up that I want to make sure you know about. Pastor John Hagee's book about the four "Blood Moons" has been made into a movie and it is showing in theaters one day only on Monday March 23. You can find all the information right now on this one-day only movie, including where it's showing near you, here: "Four Blood Moons Movie." I'll be mentioning this more in coming posts to remind you and help spread the word so no one who wants to see it misses it.
www.FourBloodMoonsMovie.com

Whew! That's a lot to cover in one week. But we're going to give it our best shot.

My focus this week will be the upcoming total solar eclipse.

I have so much information on all of this that I want to share that I'm going to add additional posts this week. Normally I post on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. However to get it all in this week I'm going to need to post every day.

Most of the information I want to share this week, however, is already on this blog. I've studied and shared about this coming solar eclipse in many earlier posts. I also promised in those posts that we'd talk more about it as it draws near. Well here we are. It's near. And what I'm going to do is simply direct you to my past posts on solar eclipses.

I have to admit as I reviewed my own posts I learned (or re-learned) a lot of info that I had forgotten. So review and repeat is good for learning. I'm going to keep my posts short this week because I want to you go check out the articles I'm directing you to.

Please follow the links to learn and prepare for the total solar eclipse coming early this Friday.

Today's link will take you to the January 10th, 2015, post which talked about this first of four amazing events happening this year.

This article includes a link to Time and Date.com with where in the world this total solar eclipse will be visible and the times it will appear. Very few people on earth will be able to observe this live. Scroll down on that page to enter your location and see where it will be visible (north pole area). Please visit that article to learn a lot more.

Also, you can join my Facebook Event to observe and celebrate this solar event. The Facebook Event has links to interesting articles about this solar eclipse. It is also a way for you to post comments or ask questions and visit with other people who are also interested in this solar eclipse. Finally, the Facebook Event is also a way you can share all this information with people you want to inform. Use the "Invite" button to invite your Facebook Friends and/or post the Event to your own timeline.

I hope you'll enjoying all the amazing information about the March 20, 2015, Solar Eclipse this week.

Join the Facebook Event - #Shemitah and Partial Solar Eclipse (#BlackSun) Watch Party

This week we've been talking about the coming Shemitah.  (Tweet that!)  We've touched on what has happened in the past two Shemitahs in 2001, just after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2015, and in 2008. If you missed any of the discussion those posts are linked at the bottom of this one. (Tweet that!)

There's a lot to talk about concerning the Shemitah. I imagine together we'll learn a lot more as it approaches on September 13, 2015. As a place for interested people to find information, articles, these blog posts, and whatever else I come up with, I've created a Facebook Event page. (Tweet that!)

Please go to this Facebook event and click "Join." There's not a lot there right now, but I plan to study this topic and add more as I learn about the coming Shemitah in September, this amazing worldwide event #3 in 2015 that is linked to Bible prophecy. Then I will share what I learn here on this blog and also post these articles to this Facebook Event page:

So please stay tuned to this blog and all my Facebook Event pages to learn more about these four fascinating worldwide events we are set to experience in 2015 which are linked to Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!)

Solar Eclipse (Black Sun) on the Coming Shemitah - Amazing Worldwide Event #3 Linked to Bible Prophecy

Interestingly, a partial solar eclipse (which some call a Black Sun) will occur on the same date as the coming Shemitah: September 13, 2015. (Tweet that!)

Only a small portion of the earth will be able to see it: way in the south, including South Africa, Antarctica, and locations in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

Why might this solar eclipse on the Shemitah be important? (Tweet that!)

We learned in a previous post that Bible and Jewish scholars say the sun is God’s messenger to the Gentiles while the moon is His sign to the Jews. (Tweet that!)

That was in my post on January 10, 2015, titled 2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #1 - The Coming Solar Eclipse in MarchWe were talking about a different solar eclipse in that post, that is, the next solar eclipse we're anticipating on March 20, 2015. But in that discussion I noted:

Biblical scholars say that the "signs in the moon" are messages to the Jewish people."Signs in the sun" are messages to the Gentiles.

In other words, a solar eclipse is His warning to wake up the Gentiles and a lunar eclipse is His warning to the Jewish people.

So what might it mean for a partial solar eclipse to take place on the same day as the Shemitah? (Tweet that!) Is God sending a warning to Gentiles? To gentiles all over the world? To America? (Tweet that!)

Especially considering what we discussed in the previous post about what has taken place here in America on the previous two Shemitahs. (Tweet that!)

You can see a world map showing where the solar eclipse on the Shemitah coming September 13th will be visible and learn more about it here: (Tweet that!)

2015 Amazing Worldwide Event #1 - The Coming Solar Eclipse in March

Graphic of solar eclipse.
As I listed in my previous post, there are four worldwide events in 2015 that are quite amazing. (Tweet that!) The first of those four will be the total solar eclipse which will occur on March 20, 2015. (Tweet that!)

Unfortunately this eclipse will be visible in only a certain part of the world, and the United States is not in that part. (Tweet that!)

Here is a site where you can see where this solar eclipse will be visible:

Also notice on that site in the upper right-hand corner is a countdown to the eclipse, which I find just pretty cool!

Remember to NEVER look at a solar eclipse. It will damage your eyes. Here are safe ways to observe a solar eclipse. (Tweet that!)

Why is this total solar eclipse an amazing event in 2015? Because it comes in the center of the four total lunar eclipses.(Tweet that!) Two have already passed, on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles in 2014. And the two remaining are yet to come, on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles in 2015. But I'm getting ahead of myself. We'll talk more about those two in the next post on January 13th and the post next Thursday on January 15th.

Furthermore, Biblical scholars say that the "signs in the moon" are messages to the Jewish people."Signs in the sun" are messages to the Gentiles. (Tweet that!) We get that from the Hebrew calendar being based on the moon as opposed to our western calendar being based on the sun.

We also see right in the beginning of the Bible that God created the sun and the moon as "signals": (Tweet that!)

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[or "appointed times]" and for days and years... (Genesis 1:14, ESV).

Therefore many Bible scholars today believe this tetrad (that is, a series of four total lunar eclipses without a partial eclipse in between), with each of the four total lunar eclipses falling on the first or the last of the 7 Jewish Feasts in two consecutive years, 2014 and 2015, to be highly significant prophetically. (Tweet that!) And then this solar eclipse right in the middle...

A solar eclipse right in the middle especially in light of the coming Shemitah later this year...

But again I'm ahead of myself. We'll talk about the Shemitah in Thursday's post on January 15th.

In fact we will talk about all of these events more as they approach. Let these beginning-of-the-new-year posts be just your introduction to these amazing worldwide events if this is the first you've heard of them, or if you've heard of them but don't know much about them. I promise to share what I learn about the Shemitah as I research it more, and I also promise to share more about these eclipses.

To keep up with any new information about this coming solar eclipse on March 20, 2015, you might want to join the Facebook event here:

Please stop back by on Tuesday for the next post where we'll talk about the coming total lunar eclipse, which will be the third in the series of four.

New Year Predictions - 2015 Promises Amazing Events Worldwide

This is the beginning of an amazing year no matter how you look at it. It would be easy at the beginning of this new year to predict that 2015 will hold many incredible events. "Easy" because some of them are already on our calendars! (Tweet that!)

Certainly we'll witness many unpredictable events also. And as the unforeseeable unfolds in the coming months, we will explore them right here in the light of Bible prophecy. (Tweet that!) That's what this blog is all about.

But amazingly there are four events we can predict right now that are coming in 2015 that are important and, I believe, extremely significant spiritually. (Tweet that!)

Do you know what I'm thinking of? (If you've been reading this blog for very long I'm betting you do.)

Four amazing worldwide events coming in 2015 (Tweet that!) are the:

  1. Total Solar Eclipse (visible in only some parts of the world) coming March 20, 2015
  2. Total Lunar Eclipse on Passover (the 3rd of the four "Blood Moons") coming April 4, 2015
  3. The last day of the Shemitah year, which is Elul 29 on the Hebrew calendar and corresponds to [corrected:] sundown September 12, 2015 to sundown September 13, 2015
  4. Total Lunar Eclipse on Sukkot (that's the Feast of Tabernacles) (and is the 4th of the four "Blood Moons") coming September 28, 2015
We'll talk a bit more about each of these four events in the next four posts. We'll study them all more in depth in the coming months, definitely before each event. If you can't wait, I've linked to an article about the Shemitah in that link in #3. I've also created Facebook events for the solar and April lunar eclipses. Please join those by clicking the links in #1 and #2.

While all of these events will be historic, I also believe we will see amazing things happening this year in many countries including Israel, Iraq, and the United States. It's a good bet we'll probably also see significant events in Russia, China, Iran, and other countries. Possibly Egypt? Probably North Korea.

Why do I say this? Because we've already seen events taking place in these nations. Remember the Russian invasion of Crimea? The shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine on July 17, 2014? The Muslim spring in Egypt? The tension over computer hacking at Sony in the U.S. blamed on North Korea? The beheadings in Iraq? Then there is the coming reality of nuclear weapons in Iran.

Nevertheless, this blog is meant to encourage you, not to create fear (see 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11). So please come back on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for new posts. And invite a friend to join you. These posts make great material for discussions among friends, families, or for Bible study groups.

I'll look forward to walking through this year with you as 2015 reveals its amazing worldwide events. Thank you for joining me!

Israel turns 70 years old in 2018 - Signs in Bible Prophecy Must Be Significant (Video Post)

Front Page of The Jerusalem Post
May 16, 1948

For Wikimedia Foundation. Fair use.
For many years, I have looked at the year Bible prophecy was fulfilled as Israel once again became a nation - 1948 - along with the Scripture verse that says a "generation" is 70 years, and I have strongly believed something significant would happen in the world as Israel turned 70 years old. (Tweet that!)

The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years... (Psalm 90:10a, NKJV)

Combine those ideas with Jesus' prophetic words in Matthew 24:

Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (Matthew 24:33-34, NIV 1984)

In past decades, Israel's 70th birthday seemed so far in the future. Not so any more.  (Tweet that!)

Israel was reborn in 1948, so it will turn 70 years old in 2018. (Tweet that!)

Suddenly I'm hearing other people express the same thoughts: connecting these same Scriptures. Talking about something significant happening as Israel turns 70.  Connecting End Times with Israel's 70th birthday and the generation that "will certainly not pass away until..." (Tweet that!)

Here is a video of Pastor Jim Bakker talking with author John Shorey. I'll admit I haven't been familiar with John Shorey, but I find what he has to say very interesting.

Take note not only of what he says about Israel nearing its 70th birthday, but also about:

Jim Bakker talks with John Shorey
Posted October 3, 2014

As John Shorey asks, how can all these signs in Bible prophecy show up at the same time and they not have significance? (Tweet that!)

Mark Biltz teaches "The Blood Moons Explained" (Video Post)

With no image of Mark Biltz available,
I chose this image of his book.
Currently we're viewing several video interviews with Bible teacher Pastor Mark Biltz about the Blood Moons. (Tweet that!) If you missed the first interview, you can see that in the previous post.

In this video you will hear Mark Biltz talk about solar eclipses. (Tweet that!) Then next solar eclipse will occur on March 20, 2015. (Tweet that!)

If you would like to stay tuned in to that event and receive reminders, notices of articles, and more information, please visit my Facebook Events page and click "Going." (Tweet that!)

Please also share this event with your Facebook contacts. You can do that by using the "Invite" drop-down menu just to the right of the "Going" button.

In this next part of this video interview Pastor Biltz also explains more about the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipses. This is the man who "discovered" these eclipses and their
correlation to the Jewish Feasts of the LORD back in 2008 and has taught extensively about them, so this is a great overview from him. (Tweet that!)

Also, realize this interview was posted on March 15, 2014. Note that this was before the first lunar eclipse ("Blood Moon") which occurred on April 15, 2014. (Tweet that!)

The Sun Will Be Darkened and the Moon Will Not Give Its Light

Morguefile.com
I've always found it interesting that Jesus next says "Immediately after…" Obviously End Times events are happening in a specific order and are progressing on a specific timeline. (Tweet that!)

Here's what Jesus says next in Matthew 24:

"Immediately after the anguish of those days,
     'the sun will be darkened,
the moon will give no light,
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.'" (Matthew 24:29, NLT)

In case you didn't know it, this is a quotation from or reference to Old Testament prophets Isaiah and Joel:

"The heavens will be black above them;
the stars will give no light.
The sun will be dark when it rises,
and the moon will provide no light." (Isaiah 13:10, NLT)
(See also Isaiah 34:4.)

The earth quakes as they advance,
    and the heavens tremble.
The sun and moon grow dark,
and the stars no longer shine. (Joel 2:10, NLT)

We've talked about the sun being darkened and the moon not giving its light before on this blog when we talked about the series of lunar and solar eclipses that we are currently experiencing and are living in the middle of. (Tweet that!)

The first of four lunar eclipses (called a tetrad)*) occurred last April 15th. Leading up to that I wrote a series of posts about lunar eclipses and why this current series is so interesting and important--especially to the spiritually minded. (Tweet that!) If you haven't read those posts, I'd recommend you catch up on that information. At the bottom of the post on April 15, 2014, there is a list of all the posts in that series on the lunar eclipses. Find that post here:

Within this tetrad* (which means these four total lunar eclipses), a solar eclipse will also occur on March 20th, 2015. We'll talk more about solar eclipses as that one approaches, but we touched on them back in June in a three-part series. You can find links to all three posts here:

The next lunar eclipse, which is the second of the four, will occur in barely over a month on October 8, 2014, which is the first day of the Jewish holy day called the Feast of Tabernacles (also called Sukkot). (Tweet that!) This is:

  • the third of the three fall Feasts as well as
  • the last, or 7th, of the seven annual Feasts.

In anticipation of that lunar eclipse, we are going to spend some time in coming posts talking about the three fall Feasts of the LORD. (Tweet that!)

We talked about the three spring Feasts last spring. Those three spring feasts are (click on their links to learn more):

Jesus also fulfilled the fourth of the seven Feasts, which is Pentecost [link]:

That means of the seven annual Biblical Feasts, there are three left for us to explore, to learn how Jesus will fulfill them in his second coming, and to celebrate before the year ends. (Tweet that!) These final three annual Feasts of the LORD are:

  • the Feast of Trumpets
  • the Day of Atonement
  • and the Feast of Tabernacles

This means that, as we've moved into September, the next annual Biblical Feast to occur on the calendar is the Feast of Trumpets, and the trumpet call is actually referred to in the next few verses in Matthew 24. We'll talk about that in the next post. (Tweet that!)

*tetrad: "A sequence of four total lunar eclipses including no partial eclipses [in between them]..." ("'Blood Moons' Explained" on Space.com.)
