What Would a Shemitah Judgement Look Like? Turning Things Right Side Up or God's Side Up

In my posts here since August 13, we've been talking about some of the items author Jonathan Cahn listed on pages 240 – 243 in his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, that would take place in a Shemitah judgment. For me, this item he lists brings it all together. This is what it's all about. This is the heart of it all:

"The judgment will make clear the link between America's physical and material realm and that of the spiritual."

There is always a connection between the physical and the spiritual. (Tweet that!)

For example, when Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about being born spiritually and starting an eternal spiritual life with God, He related it to physical birth. Yet those are two different things: this temporary physical life and the eternal spiritual life.

Another example is the miraculous healings Jesus performed when He walked this earth. These obviously had a physical manifestation for the recipient of the miracle, but it also had a spiritual counterpart. The miracle was intended to bring many people into an eternal, spiritual relationship with God, not merely give a temporary physical healing that would only last until the death of the person.

Therefore, the entire point of the Shemitah is to make clear the link between what happens in the physical world with the spiritual realm. In other words, the choices made in Americas in the physical world have consequences in the spiritual world.

Furthermore, these choices affect many more than the individuals who make them. (Tweet that!) Individual Justices on the Supreme Court have made decisions and put into effect physical realities that affect us all – such as effectively legalizing same-sex marriage. Another example is the legalization of abortion in 1973.

However while the Justices made these decisions, even against the wishes of many if not most Americans, we will all suffer the consequences. (Tweet that!) You may not think there are consequences, but there are. And they are taking place in the spiritual realm and will manifest in the physical realm. (Tweet that!)

In a Shemitah judgement, these will be seen clearly. (Tweet that!)

I find the nineteenth statement on Jonathan Cahn's list to be closely related. We'll look at that one in the next post.

What Would a Shemitah Judgement Look Like? Altering the Landscape

In several posts now, we've been taking a closer look at the list of manifestations author Jonathan Cahn wrote in his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, that would take place in a Shemitah judgment. On page 243, Jonathan Cahn wrote:

"The judgment will alter the landscape of nations and powers."

The very next manifestation Cahn lists is this:

"The judgment will involve and affect the rise and fall of great powers."

At first the landscapes I thought of were "political landscapes," meaning the political powers we see in the world today. (Tweet that!)  His next statement, the rise and fall of great powers, seems to confirm that.

But upon further thought, I wonder, could it be literal landscape? By that I mean, of the land? Could the landscape actually be altered, as in a large earthquake? (Tweet that!

Nothing says it couldn't be both.

I'm just thinking out loud. What do you think?

What Would a Shemitah Judgement Look Like? Wiping Away Physical Realities

from TheBlaze.com
Author Jonathan Cahn, in his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, at the bottom of page 242, wrote this of a Shemitah should it manifest as judgment in America and beyond:

"The judgment will wipe away physical realities."

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this was, "Like the Twin Towers."

In my previous post I also talked about a possibility I can see happening: the shaking of the U.S. Supreme Court Building because of the judgments this court has made and imposed on the people of the United States, including but not limited to:

  • Legalizing abortion in 1973.
  • And effectively legalizing same-sex marriage across all 50 states this past June 26, 2015.

The author may have meant more than physical buildings, perhaps including the physical realities of money in financial accumulation. But physical buildings is what came to my mind, bringing the image and the example of the World Trade Center twin towers in New York City which were wiped away on September 11, 2001. This led to the financial fall two Shemitahs ago. (Tweet that!)

What other physical realities come to your mind that might be wiped away? (Tweet that!)

Could a Shemitah Judgment Involve a Shaking of the U.S. Supreme Court?

U. S. Supreme Court Building with facade
Oblique facade 3, US Supreme Court by Daderot -
Own work. Licensed under
Public Domain via Wikimedia Commons
Remember that author Jonathan Cahn wrote his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, in or prior to 2014. The book was published in 2014 and I know that the publishing process takes a while.

Remember also the things that have transpired in America and the world since then.

The twentieth item (page 242) on Jonathan Cahn's list of manifestations America can expect should a Shemitah judgment take place is this:

"The judgment will cast down the objects of America's pride and glory."

What are objects of America's pride and glory? (Tweet that!

When I read this, I think of: Gay pride.

Since the book has come out, Gay pride is on the rise. The Supreme Court of the United States effectively legalized same-sex marriage across the nation on June 26, 2015.

It was also the Supreme Court of the Untied States that legalized abortion on January 22, 1973.

America has proudly called abortion "a women's right to choose."

But everyone with a brain and a willingness to think even a little knows this is the killing of a human baby. For those who were not willing to think, the recent disclosures via videos of Planned Parenthood officials harvesting, selling, and profiting from human body parts from dismembered babies clearly shows the hideousness of what is going on in the abortion clinics of America and the world.

When a shaking from a Shemitah judgment comes – and don't forget that one of the meanings of the word "shemitah" is "shaking" -- I would not be surprised if it shakes the building of the United States Supreme Court. (Tweet that!) Besides a physical shaking of the actual building, I can imagine a more symbolic shaking as in a "shake up" of  those Justices who sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Would not turnabout be fair play? The judgments of the U.S. Supreme Court has certainly shaken America. (Tweet that!

Around the top of the building of the U.S. Supreme Court, etched in its stone, is a mural of Moses holding the tablets of the Ten Commandments which where etched by the finger of God.

If you know the story, when Moses returned from the top of the mountain where God gave him the Ten Commandments written in stone, Moses found the people of Israel engaging in every sinful indulgence. They were breaking God's Law is so many ways. In his complete frustration with unrepentant sinners, Moses threw the tablets down, literally breaking to pieces the stone tables of God's Law.

Perhaps God will throw down the United States Supreme Court Building, or its etched facade, since it has made a mockery of God's Law and allowed the people of the United States to "legally" by man's law, engage in every sinful indulgence. (Tweet that!

Is not America's "freedom" and justice system an object of America's pride and glory? (Tweet that!) I put the word "freedom" in quotation marks because our freedom is not, as many people seem to think today, an ability to do whatever we please. Instead, American freedom was intended to allow people to do whatever is RIGHT – and the standard of "right" is what is right in God's sight, that is, the One True God of the Bible. (Tweet that!)

Finally, if a Shemitah judgment will cast down the objects of America’s pride and glory, do we not call America’s flag "Old Glory"?  (Tweet that!

The Entanglements, Attachments, and Bondages of American Politics

I think many people who hear about the Shemitah view it with much fear. But never forget God is good, kind, and gentle and He only increases the hardship on people when they refuse to acknowledge Him. (Tweet that!) Then He turns up the pressure in order to get their attention and bring them to Himself, which is a further manifestation of His goodness, kindness, and gentleness. (Tweet that!)

Another manifestation of a Shemitah judgment in America author Jonathan Cahn gives in his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah (page 241) is this:
"The judgment will release entanglements, attachments, and bondages within the nation and among the nations."

How might this look in America? The first thing that comes to my mind is our Politics.

In American, politics have become so convoluted they can no longer function. Over the years, some politicians have become so entrench that we will never be able to get them removed. Part of this includes the favors owed to them and the favors they owe. One example is the votes they have promised to give or get on certain issues. This why we can get nothing good done. (Tweet that!)

Many politicians, (dare I say most?) no longer vote for what is good for America or what is best for their constituents. Rather they vote on who owes who favors. It's the trading of "political capital" meaning political power.

What if all this owing and paying was wiped away?  Would this not be a good thing?

Don't misunderstand. I'm not saying it wouldn't be painful for our country. But to wipe clean entanglements, attachments, and bondages within nations would give us a chance to start fresh. And hopefully not make the same mistakes of "borrowing" and "owing" political power. (Tweet that!)

Related to that, at least in my mind, author Jonathan Cahn also notes on page 242 that a Shemitah judgment would...
"…wipe away structure of culture, of systems, of civilization."

I think of our structure of political culture, our political system, and it seems to be to be so entrenched in corruption now that, even though we have good people trying to make inroads, perhaps nothing will be able to make an impact soon enough unless it is wiped clean. (Tweet that!)

What if… God created a hard reset? What if it was time to start over? (Tweet that!)

The Shemitah: When the World Ceases to Function Introduce the Mark of the Beast

In the previous post we looked at  one result author Jonathan Cahn says would happen if the Shemitah manifests as a judgement in America: the leveling of accounts. Another interesting point Jonathan Cahn makes in his book The Mystery of the Shemitah (page 241) is this:

"The judgment will cause a cessation of functioning and an ending within America and the world."

What might this look like? (Tweet that!)

Would our economy come to a stand-still?

Would buying and selling cease? (Tweet that!)

If or when the world economy ceased to function, wouldn't this be an excellent time for world leaders (who are in fact evil, but I would think that fact would be hidden to most people at this time) to introduce the Mark of the Beast? (Tweet that!)

If world economies ceased functioning so that no one could buy or sell anything, no one could pay bills or buy food, I believe this would be the perfect set-up for Mark of the Beast scenario in Revelation 13:16-18:

It [that is, the false prophet] also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

In addition to the quote from author Jonathan Cahn above, he further states (page 242) of a Shemitah judgment in America:

"The judgment will strike America's economic and financial realms, and that of the nations."
We've seen strikes on America's economic and financial realms in the previous two Shemitahs. What might happen on the coming one?

Wouldn't Leveling Imbalances and Erasing Accounts Be a Good Thing?

In his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah  on pages 240 - 243, author and Rabbi Jonathan Cahn gives an amazing list of 26 general, yet quite specific, statements we can expect to take place in America, and the world with America as its leader, if the Shemitah manifests as a judgment from God.

Let's discuss some of his points and what they might look like if played out. (Tweet that!) For example, the eighth item on his list (page 241), should the Shemitah manifest as a judgment from God is this:

"The judgment will level imbalances and erase accounts within the nation and among the nations."
What comes to you mind? Here's what comes to mine:

President Barack Obama has amassed a tremendous debt during his presidency. It is truly mind-boggling. Or beyond mind-boggling even. It's more debt than most of us can comprehend.

Now please don't say all presidents do this. They don't. One way to get a grasp on how much debt the Obama administration has accumulated during his 6 ½ years as president is to see that this president's debt equal as much as ALL U.S. PRESIDENTS COMBINED since the country was founded and the first president, George Washington. This is shameful.

We've seen what is happening in Greece. That is just a preview of what might happen in the U.S.

I believe our biggest debt is owed to China.

So what would it look like if all imbalances were leveled and all accounts erased among the nations? (Tweet that!)

Jonathan Cahn also writes that a Shemitah judgment would ...

"annual, transform, and wipe clean the financial accounts of America and the nations"

... and the judgment

"will cause credit to go unpaid and debt to be released within America and the world."

The way I see it, for American people this might be a good thing – being released from the tremendous debt our leaders have put us into. (Tweet that!) But what would our country look like afterwards? And what would it mean for the countries that hold our debt? (Tweet that!)

I don't know the answers to those questions.

Nothing HAS to happen on the Shemitah

The Shemitah
I know many people are wondering just what is going to happen on the Shemitah. Many people, even Christians, are viewing it with fear and trembling. (Tweet that!) All these posts are not intended to scare you. They are intended to prepare you and cause you to examine your faith in Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him. (Tweet that!) Come whatever may come, He is our protector, our peace, our everything.

But it's possible nothing will happen at all. God is not locked in to doing anything. (Tweet that!)

Hear what author Jonathan Cahn has to say on this:

Again, as stated before, we cannot expect prophetic happenings to show up on a regular schedule or to perform on cue. Nothing significant has to happen within the Shemitah of 2014-2015. The phenomenon may manifest in one cycle, and not in another, and then again in the next. And the focus of the message is not date-setting but the call of God to repentance and return. At the same time, something of significance could take place, and it is wise to note the times.

(The Mystery of the Shemitah, page 40.)

Notice what he says about the focus of this entire exercise God is doing in and through the Shemitah. It is all about calling people back to God. (Tweet that!)

It is about repentance. Repentance is turning away from what you are doing that is sin and turning to God to walk forward in life without that sin. It's about doing better. Repentance is about stopping one behavior and going a different direction. What do you have in your life that you need to repent of? (We all have something.)

Mr. Cahn also says the Shemitah is about "return." It's about returning to God – the One True God, that is. We're talking about Jesus Christ. There is no other God. The Shemitah is about returning to Him.

If individuals and/or nations return to God, disaster can still be averted. (Tweet that!)

If individuals and/or nations refuse to return to God, then God will take the next step to cause us to want to turn back to Him. (Tweet that!)

He's turning up the pressure. You're going to have to make a decision. (Tweet that!)
Are you going to be one of God's people? Or are you going to choose to ignore Him or refuse Him? (Tweet that!)

There's only those two ways to go: Follow Him or refuse.

The Coming Solar Eclipse on the Shemitah

The coming Shemitah 2015 with
the partial solar eclipse will be
September 13, 2015, also known
as Elul 29.
Back in July we were talking about the coming Shemitah…back before we got off on the topic of the 9th of Av and other topics. I've discovered more about the Shemitah that I'd like to share. Did you know there is going to be a partial solar eclipse ON the day of the  coming Shemitah?

There are actually two partial solar eclipse events this year – in 2015. One is already past. (Tweet that!) It took place back on March 20th and we talked about how it was occurring on the exact day that was the mid-point of this Shemitah year. (Tweet that!)

There will also be a partial solar eclipse on the Shemitah day itself. (Tweet that!)

Again I'm learning so much from author and teacher Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. Here is a bit from his book The Mystery of the Shemitah. Keep in mind that his book came out in 2014, before this partial solar eclipse which is now in our past:

During 2015 there will be two solar eclipses. Interestingly both of them will bear significance with regard to the Shemitah's timing. One will mark the Shemitah's exact center point. The other will mark its climactic last day, Elul 29. The last time a solar eclipse fell on Elul 39 of a Shemitah year was twenty-eight years earlier in September 1987. It ushered in the greatest stock market percentage crash in American history that same month.
(The Mystery of the Shemitah by Jonathan Cahn, page 40.)

Notice that the previous solar eclipse on a Shemitah day was 28 eight years ago. Remember that a Shemitah is the 7th year of a 7-year cycle. So that was four Shemitahs ago. (Tweet that!) We've discuss what happened on the previous two in previous posts on this blog. See Related Articles below. If you want to know more about the happenings in 1987 I recommend you get his book.

In coming posts we'll learn more about the Shemitah from Jonathan Cahn's book.

The Rest of the Temple Institute's Incredible Message Part 3

In the previous two posts I've shared parts of the Temple Institute's announcement of its plans to build the Third Temple in Jerusalem. (Tweet that!

Today I wanted to share the rest of the Temple Institute's newsletter message from the 9th of Av / July 26, 2015. (I'm sharing their message because I can't locate it on their site. If I could, I'd simply link to it.):

Rabbi Chaim Richman, International Director of The Temple Institute notes: "One third of all Torah commandments pertain to the building of and service in the Holy Temple. Today, we not only mourn the destruction of the two Holy Temples, but also our inability to fulfill one third of the Torah. But the time has come to cease mourning and begin building in earnest. Over the last three decades, the Temple Institute has done everything in our power to research and prepare for the Third Temple. As world Jewry sits on the ground mourning the first two Temples, we have taken a huge leap towards the rebuilding. The architectural plans for the Temple and our current project to raise a perfect Red Heifer are two complimentary components essential to begin the immediate building of the Holy Temple."

The "Torah" mentioned here corresponds to the first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy), also known at the Pentateuch. (Penta means five, like the Pentagon having five sides.) This is also called, "The Law," as in when Jesus referred to "the Law and the Prophets," which is basically the whole of what we know as the Old Testament.

Many Christians don't understand why the Temple needs to be rebuilt. I've heard from many, many Christians who seem resistant – or are outwardly, even vehemently, resistant – to the rebuilding of the Temple. (Tweet that!) I can understand that as Christians, we know the Temple is no longer needed to atone for our sins since Jesus did that. (Tweet that!)

However, the Temple does need to be rebuilt to fulfill the Bible's End Times prophecies. (Tweet that!

If you did not know that, what I just said in that previous sentence, THIS is why it is so amazing to see The Temple Institute working towards, and announcing, the rebuilding of the Temple. We are seeing Bible prophecy being fulfilled in our lifetimes, right before our very eyes. (Tweet that!) If that doesn't amaze you, it should.

There is, of course, so much more to talk about regarding the Temple and how it portrays the work Jesus did while here on earth to open the way into God's presence for all who choose to believe in Him. But with the Shemitah 2015 on its way, we'd better save that discussion for a later time.

In the next post, we’ll resume our conversation and learning about the Shemitah coming on September 13, 2015.  In the previous post last Thursday, I shared the first portion of the 9th of Av announcement from The Temple Institute in Jerusalem, Israel. Because I cannot find this newsletter message shared on their site where I can send you to read the rest of it, I want to share it here.

The second part of their newsletter message follows. (Tweet that!) You can watch the video mentioned in my previous post:

The video comes one year after the Temple Institute appealed to our supporters to take part in an Indiegogo crowd funding campaign that raised over $100,000 for the architectural plans. This year, as you are aware, we have recently begun our equally important "Raise a Red Heifer in Israel" Indiegogo campaign. Over the past five years, the Temple Institute has unveiled our most ambitious campaigns and most poignant videos for the purpose of redefining the Tisha b'Av mourning period into one of active preparation for the Third Holy Temple.

I'm sure you noticed that Hebrew word: Tisha b'Av.  I had to look it up. You can see the word "Av" in it so since we've studied this here on the blog we can guess it has to do with the 9th of Av…and it does! See how much we've learned? I thought Wikipedia's definition of this Hebrew word was helpful:

Tisha B'Av: (lit. "the ninth of Av") (Hebrew: תשעה באב‎ or ט׳ באב) is an annual fast day in Judaism which commemorates the anniversary of a number of disasters in Jewish history, primarily the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem.
Tisha B'Av is regarded as the saddest day in the Jewish calendar and a day which is destined for tragedy. Tisha B'Av falls in July or August in the Western calendar.
The observance of the day includes five prohibitions, most notable of which is a 25-hour fast. The Book of Lamentations, which mourns the destruction of Jerusalem is read in the synagogue, followed by the recitation of kinnot, liturgical dirges that lament the loss of the Temple and Jerusalem. As the day has become associated with remembrance of other major calamities which have befallen the Jewish people, some kinnot also recall events such as the murder of the Ten Martyrs, massacres in numerous medieval Jewish communities during the Crusades and the Holocaust.

Is it as amazing to you as it is to me that The Temple Institute has as its goal turning the mourning of the 9th of Av into the incredible joy of rebuilding the Temple? (Tweet that!
