The Science Behind Solar Eclipses Like the One Coming Friday March 20, 2015 -- Plus Easter Moments Countdown Days 17 & 16

Solar Eclipse public photo from NASA
Last June, when there was a partial solar eclipse, we looked at the science behind solar eclipses like the one coming this Friday, March 20, 2015.

I reviewed those posts as I prepared this one. There is an amazing amount of awesome and interesting information there. Obviously there's no reason to re-write it. Please allow me to direct you to that series of three posts. I hope you'll take the time to explore this information:

Part 1 explains the science when solar eclipses happen. Then I talk about why this particular one is important in light of Christian #prophecy:

Part 2 of my series of posts last summer teaches about the four types of solar eclipses. In this post you'll learn the language and find definitions of the words you'll hear, such as umbra and penumbra, which describe the two shadows the moon casts. Then you'll learn about total, partial, annular, and hybrid solar eclipses:

In Part 3 of my series of articles you'll find a schedule of five of the celestial events we're looking at on this blog:

If you're enjoying this information about the coming solar eclipse on Friday, March 20, 2015, please share it with your contacts. Thank you!
